Vehicle Detail
Hello, we have several Pontiacs and GTO's that we will be selling off in the next few months. This will be the first of our listings of our cars. At the end of this posting, please take a look and see if there are any other of our vehicles that we will be interested in getting more details about. This is a 1964 Pontiac LeMans convertible parts car. We received this vehicle with NO TITLE and will be selling it that way. We can provide a bill of sale if needed. Also, please note that someone has also removed the data tag on the firewall at some point, but the VIN tag is still on tyhe car showing that it was an original 6 cylinder car. This 64 Lemans is pretty rough, but would be an excellent candidate as an inexpensive body tub or convertible parts swap type car as all of the convertible areas of this car are in good shape. Exterior: Rear 1/4s are straight, but do have the normal rust down low behind the rear wheels, there may be some in the lip area, I did not look that close. Doors have rust mainly on the inner structures, in the corners Fenders, pretty much JUNK, but the inners are not rusty Trunk lid, pretty rusty but .straight Trunk pan, rust in the corners and some in the middle Floor pans, pass side is decent drivers side is bad behind the drivers seat area. Hood is banged in the pass side front Bumpers: Front would be a decent core, rear is a 65 with rust holes on both sides. Rear tail light area is good, also one of the better feayures of this car. Trim is all there: most is pretty banged up except for the front window trim and some of the convertible top pinchweld (convertible ONLY) trim Dash and firewall both look excellent! Probably the nicest areas of this car and what make it a decent donor candidate if your car is a complete rust bucket (not that this car is not rusty, it just has a good dash, firewall and convertible area) The area over the rear end (where the conrtible top frame rests when the top is down) is also very nice (again a typical area where these cars rust) Frame has rust hole on driver side and a small spot on the pass side. Could probably repair if needed to. Interior: Seats are buckets, Drivers is decent, Pass is ROUGH and the rear seat is ROUGH too. This was a bucket seat car. Rear side panels are usable, but rusty at the bottoms Convertible top frame is all there, but also somewaht rusty (mainly a lot of surface rust, but the header bow does have holes in it) Dash is complete and intact, everything is there except the radio Engine/Trans: Engine is an OHC 6 with a 1bbl. This is not the original 215 that would have come in this car. It looks like it is just sitting in place and is not bolted up. Engine is seized. Transmission is a 2speed ST300, no idea if it works. Nothing looks like is is bolted up, just the engine/trans are bolted together. I would plan for the worst and hope for the best if you have any thought of trying to use either. Overall this car is rough, rusty and UGLY, but it does have usefull parts to the right person. As I mentioned its key areas are the dash, firwall, rear taillight panel area and main body structures (this areas tend to get rotted out on ALOT of convertibles from this era). I priced the car for what I felt the dash/firewall, tail light panel and convertible body panel was worth, with the rest being scrap weight. Please feel free to call me at 614-563-0877 for more info/details about the car. We can deiver within the state of Ohio and possibly some of the surrounding states at resonable rates, we can also assist with loading the car. I would like to see someone do something with at least the main portion of this car rather tahn me cutting it up and selling it as pieces. ALSO: We can supply the buyer with most all parts to restore any of these cars at our COST (usually 20-30% off of retail) We collect Pontiacs and know the cost of restoring them....we want to see these cars get into the hands of people that want to keep the hobby going and we will do what we can to help with saving you money along the way. We sold cars to people in the past, such as these cars, and have saved them enough $$ from purchasing their parts through us, that they paid for the car they bought from us!
