Vehicle Detail

Selling our 1999 Oldsmobile Aurora to the highest bidder. We bought the car with 85k miles in 2004. It has been a very good car, but recently started using oil. I drive 50 miles each way to work, so adding oil can be a pain when you log 600 miles a week. It is using over a quart per tank of gas. I do not see any real puddles under the car, nor do I see any excessive leaks under the hood. Its got a lot of miles, so the engine is very dirty, but nothing like what is being used. Don't see much smoke and the coolant level remains constant. We did a lot of service to the car at 200k, with the intention of making it to 300k, but bought an identical car with less than 1/2 the miles. We like this car. THE GOOD, THE BAD, and THE UGLY We will do our best to list this car accurately, but in the end we suggest coming to see the car and/or remember it has 200k miles and an opening bid of $500.00. Its no Bently!!! THE GOOD Leather power seats in front are in very good shape and support. Very commfortable. CD stereo with stearing wheel control. Cold A/C with dual zone climate control, +20 miles per gallon out of a V-8! Remote Start. Tinted Windows (5%). 200k service included; all new struts, new brakes and rear rotors, plugs and wires, Toyo tires, Interstate Battery. THE BAD The motor is using oil, see the note above. The sensor for the speedometer is going bad. When the car is fully warmed up, it will sometimes freak out the speedo and the car goes into neutral for a moment, then it corrects and goes on. Usually happens on really hot days, and after about 40 miles of constant driving. The part is $90 from any parts store. Right side trunk support strut is broken. Lid stays up, but you have to lift it all the way. Neither seat heater is working. Power antenna does not always fully retract. Always goes up, but not always down. Front brakes shake. It needs the rotors turned. Front fog lights are not working. Believe it is the bulbs, but impossible to reach. UGLY Small spot of surface rust on LR door. Rear bumper has noticable scratch. All four door accent light covers have fallen off through the years and I gave up trying to make them stay. Black trim on the roof line is buckled from age. Window tint on the drivers door has started to peal. My wife has been driving the car for the last month to her work, with no problems. She only drives about 10 miles each way, so a lot less gas & oil. The car runs great. It just uses oil.
