Vehicle Detail
This Nova spent it's life in Arizona before coming here to Oregon in 2010. I added the car to my collection with the intention of taking her to next level which would be any easy and rewarding task. She is a very presentable and nice driving car just as she sits and I have enjoyed going to local shows and cruise-in's here in Portland. My garage is getting tight and I'm tired of needing to move 3 cars in order to gain access to the one I want to drive. A handful of the members in my collection need new homes so that I can have some breathing room. This is a very solid, numbers matching car that came equipped with factory air-conditioning and power DISC brakes. Detailed description below: The body is extremely solid. The car has never been exposed to salted roads. She was originally Gulf Green with a painted white top. The repaint to the gray was performed many years ago. Due to the Arizona sun and age of the paint it has faded in some areas and there are a few small chips and blemishes. The car is rust-free with the exception of very small paint blisters on the bottom of each rear quarter panel. This flaw is minor and isolated to these 2 spots only. Close-up photos provided. She is very straight and still looks great but imperfections can be found on close inspection. Chrome and stainless moldings & trim are in nice shape. The glass is all good and has been lightly tinted. The trunk is rock-solid. The undersides of the car are gorgeous! Beautiful floors and backsides of body panels. Very light rubbing with a cotton rag shows the factory applied black paint on the undersides. You will not find a nicer original undercarriage. As a lifetime enthusiast and 25 year collector I am compelled to label the paint as weak. Even with that being said, the car still has a very nice appearance and compliments are non-stop when I take her out. Most of the cars in my garage have been highly restored or are mint Survivors and I drive this Nova with pride just the way she is. The interior is in good condition and much of it has been redone over the years. I'm not sure what model of car the front bucket seats originally came from. They may be aftermarket. But I will say they are the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in. I considered keeping them for that reason. They are comfortable for any size person. They adjust nicely, recline to the desired position and slide backward and forward easily. Door panels and dash area are good. A CD player has been installed in the factory radio location. This is easy to put back to original but the stereo system actually sounds great so I left it alone. The headliner and rear seat were done in black velour at some point. I would prefer a more stock material. All lights, gauges, signals, heater, wipers, etc, function properly. The seatbelts have been updated to the shoulder strap style and look correct for the car. The original 307-V8 has been rebuilt. The block is clearly stamped with the VIN number on the pad behind the A/C compressor. Heads have been updated to the Vortec style. A new Edelbrock carburetor, HEI electronic ignition and serpentine belt set-up have also been added for reliabilty. The radiator, alternator and battery are among many of the new items. Factory power steering and power DISC brakes. This car came with factory air-conditioning. A very rare option. Most of the factory A/C components are present. New pressure lines will be needed and some adapting will be necessary to use the newer style compressor. The turbo-350 transmission still shifts fine and even the kick-down into passing gear works correctly. No shift kit, just smooth gear changes. The original 10-bolt rear end with highway gearing is starting to howl a little. It hasn't gotten any worse and I don't hesitate taking her anywhere but this will eventually require attention. Full Flow Master dual exhaust system. New Rally wheels, caps and trim rings. The BF Goodrich tires have tread left but they are older and should be replaced. She always starts immediately and performs well. It's a very dependable and nice driving car. I will make a few brief comments under some of the upcoming photos. All of my eBay experiences have been enjoyable over the years as I've sold members of my collection. I'm grateful for the compliments I've received. My opinions have guided me well and I stand behind them but please keep in mind that these are my personal opinions and observations and they may differ from your own. I welcome showing my Nova in person to anyone with genuine interest. I live very near the Portland Oregon Airport and would gladly pick you up. Each photo shows the car clearly and accurately. It is my intention to make this as close to you seeing and touching the car for yourself as possible. Feel free to click on the "ask a question" link here in the auction and I will respond to all polite questions. Phone calls are great too. My number is 503-887-1231 and calls between 8AM and 9PM Pacific time are just fine. My auction runs for 5 days and is scheduled to end on Tuesday evening, the 26th of July at 8PM Pacific. I reserve the right to end my auction early in the event I accept a genuine offer and the truck becomes no longer available. PLEASE, read my terms of sale located near the bottom of this screen. I'm a reasonable person but I will not bend on these basic terms unless previously discussed during the auction. A little communication goes a long way. NO RESERVE AUCTION I did not set a reserve price on my Nova. All that I ask in return is for your bids to be real and your intent to purchase be sincere. My offer of answering questions is genuine so please don't hesitate to contact me. I took every picture you're about to see the day before this auction started. No photo has been altered or enhanced in any way. This is my car and these pictures are true to her in-person appearance. Thanks for your time, DAVE fff Even the trunk weather strip gutter is excellent. Please notice the blisters in the lower corner behind the tire. Rear window area is excellent. The paint on the roof still has a shine to it but is faded. There are a handful of very small paint chips. Close-up photo of paint blister behind right rear tire. Very minor but needed to be mentioned. These are the paint blisters on the drivers lower rear quarter panel. These blems are minor and isolated to the lower rear quarters ONLY. The car is extremely solid. I've been over every inch of this car during my ownership. I have an eye for detail. I discovered some previous body work just above the drivers side rear tire. Just a couple paint blems. All lights work, even back-ups. I only looked away from the road for a second. As I said earlier, these seats are the most comfortable I've ever sat in. Incorrect headliner. Yes, even the 3 gauges for water temperature, alternator voltage and oil pressure function correctly. Trunk is rock-solid. No rust issues or patch work. The undersides are what we all hope to find. They are amazing on this car. Being an Arizona car, not undercoating was ever applied. Just smooth and original undercarriage. I only used a mild cleaner and cotton rag to expose the finish on the original floors. Detailing the undersides of this car would be so easy. Everywhere I touched exposed the shiny factory paint. Power DISC brakes. Just a very dry and solid car. I may have been a little hard on this car in my write-up. It's important to me to cover all bases and as many details as possible. It's a good car that presents itself well. Thanks again for your time. Terms of Sale: 39yr old vehicle being sold AS-IS: Please read and agree with the following: I have described my car honestly and to the best of my ability based on 25 years of owning and driving classic cars. I have faith in the drivability of this car and to my knowledge everything is in good working order per my written description above. I have the free and clear Oregon title in my possession. I drive this car without concern but she is 39 years old and routine service and repairs should be expected based on her age. If you are not comfortable with a sight-unseen purchase, please come see the car for yourself or have an independent inspection performed PRIOR to bidding. I will not be responsible for the decisions of others. I would appreciate the winning bidder contacting me immediately upon end of auction just so the lines of communication are opened. My number is 503-887-1231. A $1000.00 deposit is due within 48 hours of auction ending preferably through PayPal just so we are both protected. Wire transfers and verifiable cashier checks are also acceptable. I'm an easy going person so if you need to make special financial arrangements just let me know BEFORE you bid and I'll try to help. I have been with the same bank here in Portland for over 8 years and the Management staff knows me. You are welcome to contact them for your own security if you like. The remaining balance is due within 7 calendar days of auction end in the form of secure funds. Some banks and credit unions do not finance vehicles of this vintage. Make sure if you are financing that your financial institution accepts the year and value of this vehicle before bidding. Please have your method of payment arranged prior to auction ending. TRANSPORT - SHIPPING I am happy to be an active and hands-on part of this process from start to finish but the buyer is ultimately responsible for pickup or shipping of this vehicle and any pre-purchase inspections need to be done BEFORE auction ending. If you wish to have it shipped using a service, I will gladly assist in loading and be present for the transport condition form and other reasonable help. Locating a transporter is the buyers responsibility but I can make recommendations and share the relationships I've built. Vehicle transport has become very reasonable. I personally use a privately owned trucking company and they have handled my transport needs perfectly for the last 4 years with careful handling, excellent rates and fast service even all the way to the East Coast. Dependable Auto Shippers (D.A.S.) is a transporter that eBay recommends and my experiences with them were just fine. My location zip code is 97214. Coast-to-Coast transport is around $1200.00 and even less the closer you are to Oregon. Shipping to Australia, Europe and other Countries has also become affordable and easy for me to arrange. If you are outside of the United States or Canada, you MUST contact me BEFORE bidding. If you are an eBay member with negative history or have a (0) or low transaction score, I need to hear from you just to verify your sincerity and accept your bids as genuine. We all started from (0) and I'm happy to give a leg up. I reserve the right to cancel bids for these reasons. Communication is all I ask. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time if the vehicle is no longer available or otherwise SOLD.
