Vehicle Detail
1957 Nash Metropolitan Hard top Yellow/white Engine #: 30993 Odometer reads: 49,307 Up for auction is the cutest darn little car that I’ve ever seen! I fell in love with her when I saw her on eBay a few summers ago. To my surprise, I won the auction, and had it shipped out from Tennessee to my place in sunny Santa Barbara, California. I’ve very much enjoyed owning “Buttercup”. The perfect little car to take a nice Sunday drive in. My husband is too tall to sit comfortably in her, but I’ve enjoyed puttering around town in her nonetheless. I’ve had intentions of owning and fixing her up over the years. However, our family is expanding and space is at premium now. Although she takes up little room in our garage, we now need that space. Since I’ve owned her I’ve done the following: 1) new tires – Qty 5 (1 brand new spare!). The one on the back is for show only. 2) new Portawalls (white walls) 3) new rotor, condenser and points 4) new battery 5) new window weather stripping 6) new door seal 7) new driver and passenger door panels Also included, the following items for you to install: two (2) brand new rear view mirrors (outside, to be installed on the fenders), a brand new headliner and original radio. I purchased the rear view mirrors and headliner but haven’t had the time to install them. I am not sure if the radio actually works, but I seem to recall the previous owner indicating that it does work just needs to be installed. Technical manual, and various other spare parts included. Buttercup runs great! I drove her a few days ago, and went through all the gears. She started up for me after only the 3rd try after having been sitting in my garage for a few months. To do list that I’m aware of: 1) floor boards need some work- rusted through in various spots. I got a quote from a local body shop for $500 to install new floor pans. I can also see rust spots on the exterior bottom areas of the car, which have been painted over- not sure if those need to be attended to or not or if simply cosmetic. I've included pictures of the rust. 2) Adjust parking brake- does not work currently 3) Brake light on one side does not work 4) Blinkers do not work, although I got them to work for a short period Feel free to ask any questions and I will try and answer as best I can. More pictures available upon request. Sold as is. I have tried to describe everything to best of my ability (which isn’t much to speak of). Please ask any questions, or better yet, come and see in person. Local pickup only. Shipping not included. Serious bidders only please! $200 deposit within 24 hours of auction end, full payment within 7 days. One would think this goes without saying, but, if you don't have the funds for this, don't bid!
