1985 PORSCHE * LOW MILES BEAUTY OPTIONAL ELECTRIC TILTING REMOVABLE SUNROOF HISTORY OF PORSCHE AND PORSCHE 944 Porsche builds the finest road cars in the world. They are treasured works of excellence. Their history is colorful and exciting to say the least. Considering the ultimate achievements of the Porsche nameplate, it's surprising to note that the first Austrian built two-seaters of 1948 were considered to be little more than a sporty version of the Volkswagen Beetle, which hadn't yet arrived on American shores. The beginning of Porsche did not start with the first Porsche car. It started in 1900 when Ferdinand Porsche invented the wheel hub motor which made the Porsche name famous around the world. The same year the Porsche electric car was displayed at the Paris Expo. Then, in 1948, Porsche developed the Mercedes SS and SSK super charged sports car. From the beginning, Porsche was always on the leading edge. In 1936, in the Porsche villa, Porsche tested the first Volkswagen Prototypes. Finally, in 1948 the Porsche name appeared when Ferry Porsche built the first Porsche motorcar using mostly Volkswagen parts..........THE PORSCHE ROADSTER WAS BORN. The 944 Porsche was developed as as a one step down from the 911.It was a much improved model with a larger engine than the 924. Modified body work and a high level of equipment were standard. These cars were the first water - cooled front engine mounted Porsches. They are great looking cars with a monster looking rear end and mean looking go fast spoilers. Also, the 944 has a wonderful nose as well as fat fenders, wider tires and 4 wheel disc brakes Best of all, the 944 carried a Porsche engine rather than the VW based 4 cylinder used in the 924. THIS PORSCHE 944 The low mileage Porsche 944 offered here is a great looking motor car. It has been well maintained and shows no signs of having been exposed to inclement weather. It has no rust. The under carriage is clean, solid with no evidence of repair. I will offer you my opinions and evaluations. There are many close up pictures showing the car from every angle. The car looks just as nice in real life. The1985 had a new DME (Digital Motor Electronics) fuel injection/ignition control system replacing the Bosch system. Power steering became standard. THIS CAR HAS THE OPTIONAL ELECTRIC TILTING REMOVABLE SUNROOF. The brilliant red exterior is straight and has good magnetic adhesion. The black exterior accents are not cracked so common to these cars. It just is not possible to beat this color combination along with the genuine leather interior. The tires and wheels are in good condition. In fact, the wheels reflect the condition of the entire car. They are so close to new looking, also a refection of the cars mileage. This is a well cared for car and it shows it. The interior is very clean and shows well; however I did find small dash cracks. The leather is very good to excellent. The sun visors, carpets, door pads, headliner and sun roof need zero attention and show close to new. The seats are comfortable and sit up correctly. The original Porsche floor mats are still there. The hatch back interior is just as nice. There is no rust of any kind inside the doors or sill plates. The current mileage of 47,000 is believed to be accurate and is consistent with the cars overall condition. The engine and engine compartment are clean and shiny. Everything is there, nothing is missing. Every thing is in its proper place. The fluids are clean. The car is quick and goes through the gears effortlessly. There are 2 sets of keys. All of the original books are with the car. These cars have an impressive stance. Coming or going, they look like they are in motion even when standing still. They look very expensive and carry the name Porsche well. The generous size sun roof just take seconds to remove. The look is now complete when driving topless. The wind deflector in the up position gives this car its final touch. You can own this Porsche. It is well priced and a wonderful value. Great all around fun! Michigan law requires us to collect and FORWARD all applicable state taxes to your state. Canadian and other foreign buyers are NOT required to pay 6% Michigan sales tax as long as the vehicle is exported. Tag and title fees not included. The State of Michigan does not keep record of vehicle miles older than 10 years. Vehicles older than 10 years will show the miles as exempt on the title.
