1960 Cadillac Series 62 6 window Sedan Up fro sale is our 1960 Cadillac Series 62 sedan. This is a classic that has spent most it's life in "Rust Free" North Carolina. It was brought back here a while back and was repainted in original Black - White about 12 years. The paint was laid over a rust free body. The only putty was used to fill in a few small dings. The paint is decent but was never wet sanded or buffed. It is a 7.5 right now but could be a 9.5 if a little work was put into it. The tires are new and we have original wheel covers along with ones on the vehicle. All are in good shape. The undercarriage is very clean and only a few small pinholes in floor boards under drivers feet. Overall you are buying an original car that only needs tweaking to make great. The car uns out great. It is tuned to be stock - a driver not a racer. the motors sounds and runs good and doens't seem to leak a drop! The tranny shifts out fine in all gears. The only issue is the brakes (4 wheel drum) could use a little tweaking. They work fine and will stop the car as well as any drum brakes, but if they sit for a while the right front will grab. And after using a bit they are better. I am not a brake guy but that can't be a big issue. The interior is all original still. The headliner needs to be replaced as it is stained and torn in a few places. The carpet looks good but has a tear here and there and should be replaced to make great. The seats are all functionally there but have a seam or two that have let go. You could take off and re-sew but they should be replaced to make a show car. Everything in the car works with these 2 exceptions: 1) The wipers do not work. You can jumper them and they will work so I think it is the switch. The passenger rear window does not roll down from the drivers switch. It works from the rear seat switch so I assume that is also the switch. The good is that the same switch controls both of these problems and I have seen on E-Bay from $30. Other than that the interior functions all work - even the AM radio will crank out a tune for you. This is a great collector car that is almost entirely original and will need very little tweking to be a pristine classic. I am saying this is a pristine car as it sits. I don't want someone coming and saying "You said this and that". It is a very nice car -far better than most 1960 cars and could be a true beauty with a little work. I require a deposit of $500 within 2 days of auction close and balance paid in full within 7 days. Car must be picked up at our shop in Altoona, WI. Any transportation will be at buyers arrangements and expense. I am starting car with low starting price of $5,000. I have car for sale locally at $8,995. I will entertain offers near that - no low ball offers please, don't waste my time or yours. Car can be seen anytime at our shop. It can test driven M - F 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
