Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a rotisserie restoration project of a 1970 Dodge Challenger RT Convertible. This is the real deal (not a clone or replica). The fender tag is included. Not only is this the most popular year model for Dodge Challenger, it is the 3rd rarest version (beat only by the less desirable 6 cylinder versions of the SE & Convertible models) offered in 1970. This is one of only 963 Challenger RT Convertibles made during IT"S ONLY YEAR (1970) OF PRODUCTION. You could buy a Challenger RT (Big Block ) hardtop or a non-RT Convertible the following year (1971), but the Challenger RT Convertible combination was only offered in 1970. In 1972, both the RT and Convertible versions were dropped. This car has a completely new/rebuilt front end (suspension & steering), steering box, steering coupler, disc brake calipers, brake hoses, stainless steel brake lines, power brake booster, master cylinder, emergency brake cable, stainless steel fuel line, fuel tank, fuel gauge sending unit, wiper motor, washer fluid reservoir, firewall insulation, a/c evaporator core, heater core, temperature control cable, throttle cable, turn signal switch, padded dash, dash woodgrain plates, glovebox liner, windshield, convertible top latches, front valence, rear valence, battery box, seat upholstery, front/rear door panels, carpet, door sill plates, re-chromed bumpers and BF Goodrich TA Radial Tires. The following original parts (and others not listed) are included: 1970 (only) console, 1970 (only) Shifter, 1970 bucket seats, convertible rear seat, RT Grill (original), headlight bezels (need work/replacing), marker lights, turn signal lamps, tail lights (chrome pitted), horns, driveshaft, convertible top frame (VERY GOOD condition), radiator, fan shroud etc. This car was completely disassembled, placed on a rotisserie, sandblasted, bad sheetmetal replaced, seam-sealed and the primered shell was painted the original Ralley Red (Paint Code FE5). The K-Member was dismantled, painted, rebuilt and reinstalled along with new disc brakes, shocks and steering box. The leaf springs and rearend were stripped, repainted and reinstalled with new bushings and shocks. New stainless steel brake lines and rubber brake hoses were installed front & rear. A new fuel tank with new sending unit was installed using new tank straps, J-bolts and new stainless steel fuel line. The newly painted firewall was sealed with new gaskets & grommets prior to installing the firewall insulation, rebuilt heat/ac box, rebuilt steering column, new throttle cable, new emergency brake cable and dash (with new woodgrain & dash pad). On the outside of the firewall, a correct rebuilt brake booster, rebuilt master cylinder, rebuilt wiper motor, new steering coupler and fan motor were then installed. The windshield stainless was polished and a new windshield was professionally installed. As you can see, the hardest parts has been completed. The final assembly is within the knowledge of the average gearhead. Install a drive train of your choice, install the new interior provided, add a new top and final finish paint job and you'll have a truely rare, collectable and increasingly valuable muscle car.
