Up for sale a 2001 Subaru Legacy Outback. I traded my Subaru Impreza for this car in February 2010 as I needed a family vehicle rather than a sports car. I traded my car only because this car did not need any attention as my Impreza had a bad transmission. When I bought this car - it just had the head gaskets done along with timing belt. Unfortunately, I moved twice since then and I lost the receipts give to me by the previous owner. Since I have owned the car - I replaced the clutch (~130K) as it was slipping, front windshield as it cracked while driving on the highway and I have done the regular maintenance work - from gas cap, injectors thru alignment to keep the car well running and passing the inspections without problems. I have all receipts for the maintenance I have done since I bought it. As far as the car - it is in a good shape overall but as every 10 year old car has some flaws. Mechanically, I could say it is in a good shape, running well. The only thing that I have to mention is a light knock when turning and hitting a hole - from what I have read - typical for this model. The suspension was checked for loose elements and everything was fine. Engine and the transmission - no problems. Interior is also in a good shape - the headliner is a bit dirty and could use some cleaning. Brakes very replaced less than a 1000 miles ago - pads and rotors. The exterior of the car does not have any dents or major scratches. It does have some rust spots - behind the rear wheels, under the rear door, antenna area...which is also typical for this year and model. All the rust spots I treated with a rubberized stop corrosion paint which is doing very good job - it does not spread. The black spots on the exterior never bothered me... Last but not least issue to mention - on a very hot days the odometer is very difficult to read - it displays additional lines....not really sure what causes it as after a while it becomes normal. No issues with the readings etc...I will include the original cross bars for the roof rack. Overall, great in the summer, fantastic in the winter. Subaru vehicle for the great price as I have to sell by next weekend because I'm picking up a new car. You can come and take a look/drive the car thru the week.
