Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is an excellent little project Ford. It is 1955 Customline which many prefer over the Fairlane. The speedometer shows 70,958. The car is a six cylinder with three speed transmission. The car is virtually all there including the cigarette lighter and all knobs and instruments. This one will not keep you running to the junkyard. Like many of the other ads on eBay, this is a car that I bought to restore but I now realize I will not get to it anytime soon and I would rather let someone else have the fun. Legend has it the previous owner’s son did have the car running last year. I honestly do not know if it runs. The motor turns free and the antifreeze and oil levels are topped off and look good. Most of these old cars died of something and were set aside; I am thinking this one was induction as there are numerous carburetor parts in the trunk. The body is straight, but shows evidence of some older body filler repair and has one rust hole. There is also rust in the floor and one patch panel in the floor. The top has some surface rust where someone’s amateurish paint job did not hold up. One taillight lens is broken; the missing molding on the quarter panel is inside the car. Also the trunk lock is among the missing. The grill, bumpers and all garnish and moldings are there and could be cleaned to be presentable. The interior is best described as intact; however none of it is deteriorated beyond serving as patterns. You could put throws over the seats and drive the car as is. The windshield is good and a thought I had was to swap this one with the one in my Fairlane which I show; however I do not have the heart to start parting on this car, it needs another chance in life. The driver’s side door glass is a Plexiglas insert. In closing, the old car is restorable, would make a great project for a father and son/daughter or whatever. It is sold as is and where is with no guarantee or warrantee implied or specified. I require a non refundable deposit of $500 within three days of sale and the remainder before I send you the title, the title is clear. I do have a truck and trailer and could deliver or do a partial delivery within a reasonable distance. Please San Diego, Daytona Beach and New York City are not reasonable distances to Helena, Montana. P. S. the 1959 Dodge in some of the pictures is also for sale on eBay currently.
