Vehicle Detail
If you've been looking for a VW Superbeetle to restore and enjoy, your search is over! For sale is a 1972 Superbeetle with the flat windshield, so it is similar in character and appearance to the older bugs. I bought this beetle with intention of restoring it, but then found a VW Thing that I want more, so this has to go. When I foung this Beetle, the owner had just taken the motor and transmission out to put in his railbuggy, so I have spent time and money buying what I needed to restore it. I have the motor and transmission, as well as a complete parts car of the same make and model (minus motor and trans), plus I have lots of extra parts to go with this project. I have a NEW set of floorpans, extra fenders, lights, seats, chrome exhaust, etc. The strut towers and trunk are solid with NO rust holes and very minimal surface rust. Doors DO NOT sag when opened and closed. Doors latch solid. Looks like it will need the outer heater channel on the passenger side, where the running board would bolt on (inside seems to be all there). I know I could sell this easier and for more money if I put the motor and transmission in and got it operational, but with a good restore you need to remove the motor anyway, and I just don't have the time. I have heard the engine run (ran fine), and removed it myself from the donor car. I have a clear title in my name for the orange one. The red one is the parts car, although it's in restorable condition too, but no title. If you had a way to get a title, you'd have 2 good restorable beetles! 2 for 1! Can't beat that. The mileage stated for the orange beetle may be original, or not. no way to know. But car is very solid. Reserve is fairly low because I want to sell them for funds to restore the Thing, but I can't give them away. I know what they're worth--these cars are disappearing fast. Here's your chance for everything you need to have a complete car, plus all the extra parts you'll ever need. BID HIGH AND OFTEN!!! THANKS FOR LOOKING!On Jul-09-11 at 08:59:23 PDT, seller added the following information: ********HI AGAIN. YOU MAY HAVE NOTICED I RELISTED THIS BEETLE AGAIN AS IT DIDN'T SELL THE FIRST TIME. I'VE DECIDED TO LOWER THE RESERVE A BIT, BUT LIKE I SAID, I CAN'T GIVE IT AWAY. IF IT DOESN'T SELL THIS TIME I'LL JUST FINISH IT MYSELF AND DRIVE IT, BUT I WOULD RATHER SOMEONE BUY IT TO RESTORE AND ENJOY. I WISH I COULD KEEP IT MYSELF, BUT I HAVE TOO MUCH STUFF AND MUST SELL SOME OF IT. SO, LET'S TRY IT AGAIN. BID, BID, BID!!!!! THANKS********On Jul-09-11 at 09:12:51 PDT, seller added the following information: OH, ONE OTHER THING....WHEN I SAID THAT IT COMES WITH A NEW SET OF FLOOR PANS, I GUESS I'M GIVING THE IMPRESSION THAT THEY NEED REPLACING (ACCORDING TO SOME OF THE QUESTIONS I'VE BEEN GETTING). THEY ARE USEABLE AS THEY ARE, WITH JUST HAVING SURFACE RUST ON THEM. I BOUGHT A NEW SET BECAUSE IT WAS MY INTENTION TO COMPLETELY RESTORE THIS BEETLE FROM THE GROUND UP, INCLUDING TAKING THE BODY OFF. THOUGHT I MIGHT AS WELL PUT NEW FLOORS IN. DOESN'T REALLY NEED THEM THOUGH. JUST SO YOU KNOW..........On Jul-12-11 at 19:40:09 PDT, seller added the following information: OK, I'VE LOWERED THE RESERVE AGAIN. I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO SELL THESE BEETLES. DON'T WAIT TOO LONG AND MISS OUT ON A CHANCE TO BID!On Jul-14-11 at 15:21:35 PDT, seller added the following information: YOU'RE GETTING CLOSER!!!!!
