Here is an opportunity to have an MG in great working order, ready to enjoy the open road! Purchased in 2001, I am the 3rd owner of this 1500 which originally came from California. It was sitting behind the second owner's mechanic shop in Arizona for 10 years when I bought it and brought the car to Texas. The vehicle was in need of a complete cosmetic and mechanical overhaul, which was began in 2002 up to the present.The original engine needed a rebuild at 80, 500 miles. The current mileage is 83,599. Since I have owned this car it has always been garaged and never been driven in any bad weather. Included with this vehicle is parts and accessories I acquired while working on this project, which makes this a fantastic bargain especially at the Buy It Now price. I do not collect cars. I get the the most out of getting them back on the road and then I move on to another challenge. I never restore the same vehicle twice, so this is why everything made for this Midget I have will go with the car. Listed below is the work and new part replacement I began in 2002, and have continued up to the present; Passenger Compartment - Sealed and waterproofed with new heat and sound insulation. New Parts; carpet kit, door and trim panels (MG Autumn Leaf color), aluminum frame covers, head rests w/seat belt guides, center console, seat belts, sun visors, dash mat, rear view mirror, door pulls, window cranks, door straps, floor mats, brake and clutch pedals, shift knob w/boot, Pioneer am/fm cd w/remote and 2 - 6 inch speakers mounted in rear panel. Engine and Transmission - Rebuilt in 2005. Oil pressure is 60 lbs @ 3500 rpm. Cylinder pressures are all 150 psi. Water temperature stays at 160-170 degrees running at 60 mph, in 95 degree weather. New Parts; Crankshaft, camshaft, bearings, thrust washers, piston rings, push rods, tappets, timing chain, engine and transmission mounts, head rebuilt with new springs and studs, clutch and throwout bearing, clutch master and slave cylinders, clutch line, u-joints, cei distributor, oil pump, water pump, thermostat, , oil and water temperature senders, electric fuel pump, alternator, plugs and wires, aluminum valve cover, accelerator cable, radiator, hoses and belts, Pacesetter header and exhaust, block fluxed, honed and repainted, starter overhauled, transmission cleaned, inspected and refilled w/new speedometer gear. 2011 - New Weber DGEV carburetor w/electric choke and Pierce aluminum intake. Ther is no bogging down or hesitation with this carburetor, and plenty of power to spare! Body - Stripped and repainted in 2004, no rust or body damage. New Parts; Convertible top, boot cover, side mirrors, weather seals, windshield rubber post and frame seals, left and right door glass w/felt and waist seals, vent window seals, rocker letters, rocker plugs, rocker sill molding, hood spring pin and safety catch, hood prop and buffers, trunk seal, trunk carpet kit, trunk light, trunk emblem, rear license plate mount w/lighting system, tail and back up light lenses and frames, chrome headlight protectors, gas cap. 2005 - Replacement of front and rear rubber bumpers with "new old stock" ones. In photos, the only thing on the rubber is STP Son of a Gun protectant. These were a rare find indeed! Suspension, Steering and Brakes - New Parts; leaf springs, spring pads, U bolts, rebound straps, left front shock (cleaned and refilled other three), tie rod ends, bushings, rotors, drums, brake pads and shoes, brake cylinders, hoses, rebuilt calipers, repacked wheel bearings. 2011 - New brake master cylinder. Electrical and Heating Systems - New Parts; heater core, fresh air intake hose, defroster hoses, shut off valve, heater box seals, windshield washer pump, wiper arms and blades, air horn system, starter solenoid, fuses, flashers, bulbs, light/turn switch, oil and water combination gauge, ballast resistor, battery cables. 2011 - New battery. Wheels and Tires - Original wheels sanded and repainted with new lug nuts, center caps, emblems, and chrome beauty rings. Tires have approximately 1,500 miles on them. Spare tire is new, never used. Original jack and bag. Note: Included in this auction is a set of Minator aluminum alloy spoke wheels with new tires and center caps. Accessories and Spare Parts - Three tonneau covers (all in very good condition), wind blocker w/mounts (like new), factory am/fm BFCD radio w/all plates, chrome, knobs and trim (works and in very good condition), glove compartment door, seat rails, 2-3 feet of spare interior vinyl, hood prop, column switches, wiper motor, 4 rear tailight sets, 4 amber side light reflector sets, 2 red side reflector sets, 2 back up light lenses, 3 side mirrors w/lots of new and used hardware, 2 seat levers, door pull, ash tray, console light, trunk light bracket, rear view mirror, emblems, speedometer, oil and water combination gauge, 2 intakes, 2 valve covers, oil pan, timing cover, water pump housing, 2 oil pumps and pick up tube, timing gears, 2 starters, mechanical fuel pump, front block plate, rear block plate, dipstick, U bolt set, new leafspring pads, pedal box gasket, alternator guard, new engine mount, 2 brake cylinder rebuild kits, smog tube, 3 new stock muffler mounts, hood catch and pin, hydraulic shock parts, crankshaft, rebuilt brake master cylinder, radio antenna and cable, 4 new wiper blades, wiper arm, original set of horns, set of 4 Minotar aluminum alloy spoke wheels (great condition) with new tires and center caps. Please Note; As with any used vehicle there will be a small knick, drip, or imperfection somewhere. I will send additional photos at your request. Here is what I consider the "major" issues with the vehicle; There is a two inch scratch in the paint above the reflector on the left rear fender (this was there when the paint job was done and has not been a problem). The right rear plastic window on the covertible top has a half inch crack at the top and a small seperation are at the bottom. Both of which have been glued from the inside several years ago. Original dash has two cracks (center and right side, both on top) repaired and sealed by previous owner and I have used a dash mat to cover which does not come off even with top down. Remainder of the dash is in very good condition, which is why I did not replace it. I have tried to be upfront with all the information and not try to cover up anything. This car is not a 100% restoration trailer queen. Just a darn good running machine! Thank you for looking.
