Up for sale is a 1989 300E that has been well cared for over the years. I have thousands in receipts for various maintenance and repairs over the last 13 years. Its been a great car for me and anyone who is into older mercedes will know how bulletproof these cars are. I parked the car in the fall of '09 for winter storage and haven't touched it since. I recently had to move it from storage and with a jump, it started right up no problem, it was truly amazing. I put a few gallons of fresh fuel in it just to help dilute the old gas. The good about the car : Everything is pretty much perfect considering the age and mileage. The interior is amazing clean and unmolested. The factory radio still works very well. All the windows, climate control, sunroof work as they should. The exterior is just as clean as inside. Its a little dirty/dull because its been sitting, but with a good cleaning it will shine again. The wheels are in average condition for 20 year old alloys. The bad about the car: Since its been sitting for 2+ year it needs a solid service which is why I'm selling it. Ive put thousands into this car and don't want to any more. As I mentioned before, it fired right up with a jump, but it should get a fresh tune-up. All the fluids should be flushed out: oil change, I noticed the transmission engaged somewhat harder then i remember when i parked it, so the transmission should be flushed, brake fluid, coolant. I was good about maintenance and the car shows it and that's why its lasted this long. The brakes are only a few thousand miles old, but they were installed back in '07. So the may need to be replaced, they may clean up once you start driving it. The car will need to be towed, the car shouldn't be driven until the servicing is done. If your a DIY'er, this is the car for it. You'll have a nice car after a Saturday's worth of work.
