Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE This is my daily driver for 40 miles per day that I've driven for the past three years. I have moved to the Northeast and decided to buy something more winter-worthy and family-friendly; otherwise I would not be selling. It's an overall reliable truck that I would drive across the country without much thought. It has a smooth shifting 5-speed manual transmission and cold A/C. I average 17 mpg in my mixed highway and city driving. The tires are BF Goodrich Long Trails in perfect shape with a little over 10,000 miles on them. The interior is very clean, but aged a bit, and bare bones with no power options and rubber floors. It is a nonsmoker truck and smells clean. The windows have a nice dark tint job that has no sign of peeling. There are no warning lights active, and the registration and inspection are current. The title is in hand, clean and clear. Please read carefully below about the minor issues this truck has before bidding, and note the extensive repairs that have been done over the last three years. ISSUES/PROBLEMS Slow oil leak I’ve lived with this problem for the entire time I’ve owned the truck. I had the rear main seal, oil pan gasket, and valve cover gaskets replaced as advised by a shop, but the leak is there. It is a very slow leak that doesn’t leave any visible spots at all where I park. I’m able to drive two or three months before needing to add oil. Engine is a bit grouchy if not driven oftenThe engine seems to run just a little rough if it's not driven for a week or so. It also acts this way on very cold mornings. It starts up every time, has never once died on me, and runs fine once it's been running about 10 minutes. Again, if it's not cold and it's driven daily, it runs perfect. You will probably encounter this if you start it, because it is sitting right now and no one is going to try to hide this from you by warming it up. Tailgate won't openThere are two cables that run from the door handle to the latching mechanisms on each side of the tail gate. One of those cables has fallen off the handle, so the tailgate won't work. This is a new problem that cropped up in the past few months, I have no idea what triggered it and haven't had time to work on it, but I'm sure it's a simple fix. It's been in a minor accidentThe truck was accident-free when I bought it according to CarFax. Sometime in 2009 (I don’t remember the date) someone rear-ended me and bent the rear bumper, but that was the extent of the damage and I did nothing to fix it, I spend the insurance money on other things because it doesn’t look that bad and the bumper is secure and functional. The radio/CD player doesn't work I had an aftermarket CD player I put in right when I bought the truck. I put the factory radio/CD player back in, and it doesn't seem to be working. Dents and scratchesThere are plenty of dents and scratches on this truck. It has a series of minor dents on the bed, one big scratch on the bed, and the driver's side door handle area has pry marks from a prior break-in, but the door handle and locks are working. REPAIRS DONE The receipts for all of these repairs done while I’ve owned the truck will be included in the sale.
