Normal 0 1979 AMC Jeep CJ-7 Renegade stock with very low 46K original miles and a recent cosmetic restoration. The tub, fenders, hood, windshield frame, grill, and floor pans are all steel and were in overall good condition. There were a few minor repairs performed prior to paint. It was used as a summer runner by the original owner as a mini pick-up (rear seat delete). He had a diamond plate welded on the rear deck area. It was professionally done so I decided to leave alone. The original floor pan is still intact and appears to be solid from a underside. The paint work is a gorgeous bright red, hand rubbed with 1500 grit water sand paper and then machined buffed. A tri-colored silver, silk screen, cleared, RENEGADE decal kit was then installed (the best available). NOS AMC rear badge, factory rocker molding, OEM step sides,power steering, trailer hitch, etc. The inner fenders, inner tub, under hood, and engine compartment have also been painted as pictured. The firewall area still retains the original paint. The Jeep will require minimal upkeep but it is a 30+ year old classic that requires periodic TLC. It also has some very minor paint nicks from reassembly here and there, none of which deter from it's overall excellent appearance. It has the original 4.2 in-line 6 cyc AMC Motor that is very strong and smooth, original T-150 manual transmission and clutch feels very stout. Most maintenance items, spark plugs, wires, heaters hoses, recent brakes,etc have been replaced thus ready for the you're summer enjoyment. The ER cable is currently froze up, most likely from inactive use in storage. It may need to be replaced. Amazingly, there has not been a drip of oil dropped since being parked in the same spot in my garage for over 3 months now. There is some residual on the underside but nothing hitting the pavement. The interior is all factory AMC. The front seats are the high back version with a CJ embossed stamp in the material on the upper shoulder areas. The rear is a matching fold and tumble verion. These are as good as it gets for OEM stuff. The dash pad, sun visors, are also oem and very nice. The metal dash is original, never cut or painted. It houses a period correct solid state AM radio with a single speakers in the factory location on the dash. Basic 8 spoke 15” wheels have been painted silver to match the Tri-colored silver decal kit and have 235/75/15 radials. The suspension has never been lifted or altered from it’s original state. It is very tight and a pleasure to drive. I did not intend on putting a top on it since the Jeep would only be driven on sunny summer days, however if the buyer wants or need one, I will include a complete black Bestop with soft doors. A hardtop with factory steel doors are also available at an additional cost . The doors are not yet painted to match thus the winning bidder would need contact me immediately after the auction ends so I can arrange to have them painted prior to pick up or transporting.
