Vehicle Detail

> This very unique and people stopping 1969 Westfalia Poptop Camper Van has been painted in the Pointilist Style, with images from Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead and Tina Turner, the MajaRishni in his meditative yogi pose, to Native American Indians and Cowboys, this is curently a rolling, eye catching, people stopping camper van that will bring a lot of lot of attention if that's what you're after. Artwork was done by a Northern California Artist over 10 years ago named Norm Dillinger, Here's a link to his artwork http://www.normdillinger.myphotoalbum.com/view_album.php?set_albumName=album01 Here is a Link w/ 75 pictures of the Camper van as well. http://s1084.photobucket.com/albums/j406/volkswagens2011/POINTILIST%2071%20Westy/ Lots of original VW Booklets including it's first 40,000 km's as stamped by a variety of European Dealerships as shown in Service History booklet. Rarely are these booklets still around, this camper began it's life in Europe versus being directly shipped here to the US for it's beginning. Body is straight and solid for a 42 year old VW camper van. The rocker panels look great, does not appear to be any rust in the battery tray or other side tray either! Front lower driver nose area got a dent from hitting a small deer, you can see some of the paint damage but not too bad, can be touched up and matched by a decent artist. The floors are good, interior is complete, even has the original Westy Stool! Comes with all the original interior cabinet pieces including long side cabinet, Z Bed, Jump seat, Westy Table mounted on wall, headbanger cabinet in the rear, and the often missing icebox cabinet/sink. Also has the Childs cot for up front and the Mosquito Net, both items are often long gone! Has a hitch on the rear bumper as well but I don't recommend towing anything heavy as these are generally run on the same engines that power little bugs. Engine needs to be rebuilt, it's sitting in the back of the van, looks to be complete but condition is unknown. All mechanical information is unknown as I have never driven this van. That being said, prior owner stated the camper was running until they had a problem w/ the engine at which point they had it pulled out of the van. I would recommend a thorough mechanical inspection including a complete go through of the braking system as stopping never goes out of style! Also, the passenger rear tire/axle are from a 71 and up model, not sure why? There is a small dent in passenger rear corner as well. Obviously it is hard to tell exact body condition, but the rockers, rear trays, underneath and frame, front nose, doors opening and closing nicely, all appear to show this is a nice solid Westfalia Camper. Poptop canvas is aftermarket with a tear in the bottom back but functional. I sell complete rear Westy Vinyl covers that are a great match to originals, a new set will be included that will include a new rear cushion cover, spare tire cover, the 3 pieces for the Z bed, the jump seat behind drivers seat and the Westy Stool cover. 8 pieces in all, buyer is responsible for installing as well as purchasing on their own the small snap buttons needed for jumpseat(approx. $20 from a fabric/upholstery shop). A credit of $400 can be given if buyer chooses not to accept the set of covers. I've done my best to accurately describe this unique Westy camper, she's a Vintage vehicle and with that she has many flaws, and is sold AS IS, with no guarantees implied or stated, and is currently only a rolling van that is not ready for driving usage. I can help arrange shipping anywhere in the US, buyer is responsible for exact cost and will finalize any transport agreement directly with the shipper/auto hauler. Please feel free to call or email with questions, the more you ask the better we'll both feel. I can put up any specific picture requests as well. Please be sure that you understand the work this van will need after it leaves my hands, and if you are not a people person, you may want to abstain from buying as she'll be a crowd gatherer!
