Up for bid and just in time for summer is a rust free very low mileage, just a little over 57,000, stock 1988 Porsche 911 Cabriolet. I purchased it in the summer of 2010 and have only put a little over 1000 miles on it. 700 plus of those miles were put on in it when I drove it from Houston TX, where I purchased it, to St. Louis MO. It made the trip with no problems. This is a fun car to drive. Exterior: The paint is a 7 out of 10 with only two minor dings, see pictures. The mirrors are power. The Fuchs wheels are in nice shape and the Yokohoma tires have 65%-70% tread life left on them. The power convertible top is like new and the back window has no scratches or cloudiness, see picture. Interior: The interior is very good condition. The front seats are power and have been recovered and are in great shape. The dash has NO cracks and is not faded. All of the instruments, including the clock, work. The carpet does show some wear but overall is in good shape. There are newer black carpeted floor mats that come with it. The stereo has been upgraded to a single disc Alpine stereo and the door speakers have been replaced with Sony speakers. Mechanical: The car starts every time and sounds like an air cooled Porsche engine should. It has NO leaks. My garage floor does not have a drop of oil on it. The engine is completely stock and has not been modified with a performance chip or any other aftermarket performance parts. The engine performs as it should. This car has the desired G50 transmission. The A/C works and blows cool air. This 911 drives, brakes, and handles like it should. All the electrical items work. The individual I bought it from in December of 2006 had the breaks serviced, the clutch replaced, and the struts/shocks along with a number of over items addressed. The car had 43705 miles on it at that time, see receipts. This car has passed Missouri vehicle inspection. Other Items Noted: The individual that I purchased the car from had not driven it for two years and had it stored inside his shop. He told me it was a one owner car that his father bought new in 1988. When it has not been driven for a few weeks it does smoke at start up for around two minutes, but as soon as it warms up it no does not smoke. I am not a Porsche mechanic but I am assuming that this is because the valve guide seals dried up from sitting for two years. The front spoiler is cracked, see picture. The power top motor latches work but the cables that lift the top are either broke or missing so the top must be put up and down manually. There is not a boot to cover the top when it is in a down position. The driver’s side door jamb seal is torn, see picture. The head light lens covers are oxidized and cloudy. There are no Porsche tools or Porsche air compressor with this car. I do have the orginal owners manual. Terms and Conditions: The title is clear and in my name. The CARFAX is clean.
