This 1992 Toyota Previa LE All-Trac van is being offered needing repairs, or as a parts vehicle. It's main problem is that the brake lines are rusted and corroding. The brakes are currently working and stop the van well, but I want to make clear that the brakelines may or may not be roadworthy for long. I no longer need a vehicle this large and have decided not to put any money into it for repairs. If you're still with me, I'll give some details. I bought the van in 5/2003 with 105K miles. It has always been very reliable and gets about 20 mpg. The all-wheel-drive system lets you travel in nearly any weather condition. First some good points: -Engine, transmission, and drive system work smoothly. 161K is not a lot of miles for a Previa engine. Does not burn any oil. Has had regular oil changes. Starts and runs easily. -New brake calipers, rotors and pads at all wheels at 153K, but the brake line issues have already been noted. -Set of Michelin Harmony radial tires (plenty of miles left) on factory Previa alloy wheels (wheels could use a pro cleaning). Handles and steers nicely. -Excellent interior, with no wear to seats, no major stains to the carpet, no cracks to the dashboard, and no rips to the headliner (see photos). We don't smoke, have kids, or pets. -New catalytic converter and oxygen sensors at 149K, new alternator and Interstate battery at 145K. -Original 9-speaker CD/FM/AM/Cassette sound system sounds great, but one rear speaker is distorted, so I've kept the balance toward the front. -Alarm, power windows, central locking, heat, clock, and other electricals are working well. Included are the original owner's manuals. -There are no Check Engine or other warning lights lit on the dash. -All of the window glass is in excellent condition. -Clear title in hand. There is 1 original key and 2 dupes. The bad points: -The main issues with this van are rust on the underside of the van, mostly towards the rear. -The brakelines to the rear brakes need to be replaced or, at the very least, some sections of those lines. -The spring mechanism for the parking brake is rusty and needs to be replaced. If the parking brake was used, I'm not sure it would be able to be released. -The frame which holds up the spare tire is rusty and should be replaced. -The rear differential center cover is rusty on the rear side, and a coat of epoxy currently keeps it from leaking too much. Gear oil does need to be topped up a little every few months. -The paint is generally shiny (see photos), but there are a few small dings, dents and nicks. There is a spot of body rust perforation behind the right rear wheelwell. -There is a large dent on the left rear corner, and a smaller crease in the center of the hood, both caused by falling tree limbs. -The dual AC system is functional, but needs a recharge every other year. Not blowing cold air now. Has been converted to the current R134A freon, though. -There is no longer any outside air possible thru the dash. You need to open a window for that. Please ask any specific questions you might have.Whether you have access to affordable brake work, or need a drivetrain or nice interior for your own Previa, this van might be what you're looking for.
