Vehicle Detail
1972 Ultra rare LOW LOW mileage Mini Cooper Sport SPI with AIR CONDITIONING. The A/C was a $3,000 added option back in its day and it’s very rare for a Mini to have A/C. This car is updated to 1996 specs. This Mini literally has traveled the world. Born in England and made for the Japanese market this car was shipped to Japan where it spent its life in a warm dry garage and only driven on nice sunny days. It was then purchased by my friend in Belgium and exported back to his home in 2005. The car was purchased from him in 2005 and shipped to my home in Connecticut. It was also kept in a warm dry garage and only driven on sunny days and stored in winters. Because of all this pampering, the car is RUST FREE. The car has 19,324 kilometers which is translates to about 11,594 miles. Runs and drives great and sounds awesome due to the Twin DTM stainless exhaust. There is one small ding in the passenger door by the door handle and the roof has a tiny tiny dent as pictured next to my finger. They are quite small and in my opinion, weren’t worth fixing, but it you want it gone Dent Wizard should be able to massage it out very easily. The A/C could use a recharge. Overall, this is a great condition Mini that is a blue chip investment. As we all know, Rover stopped making the real Mini in 2000. That’s when BMW sold their ownership in Rover and kept the trademark Mini name and made the new version we see now. If you know anything about Mini's you know it's a hugh and expensive effort to import one of these cars. The reserve is set at a very reasonable price but to be fair to all, I will not disclose what it is. You could not import a low mileage A/C Mini for what the reserve is. The car is currently located and registered in CT. Note that CT DMV does not issue new titles for cars of this age. All you need it a Bill of Sale and my current registration and your state HAS to accept those two items as documentation. If you have any questions please ask BEFORE you bid. Any bidders with negative feedback email me before you bid or I will cancel your bid. Note that I only check my emails late in the evening so be patient for my reply. Thanks. On Jul-03-11 at 18:12:00 PDT, seller added the following information: The A/C actually blows cold and does not appear to need a charge. It blows cold when the fan is on a low speed but when you turn it on high it does not. Someone who looked at the car informed me that they think it is a resistor in the switch causing the A/C to do that. They said a new switch should fix the problem.
