This auction is for a 2002 BMW R 1150 GS motorcycle. I am the original owner and have owned this motorcycle since purchasing it new from the dealer. This motorcycle is in excellent used condition and has always been kept in a garage. This motorcycle has no mechanical problems. There are no scratches or dings in the gas tank. This motorcycle has never been in an accident. I have always followed BMW's recommended servicing schedule for servicing which has been dealer performed. I have all servicing records available. Specs. / General Info: 1130 cc, 6-speed transmission, ABS brakes (great safety feature), heated grips, 5.8 gallon fuel tank (based on BMW's Service and Technical booklet.....this motorcycle gets 52.3 mpg at a steady speed of 56 mph, and 41.3 mpg at a steady 75 mph). The battery was replaced about 2 years ago with a sealed battery. This motorcycle has newer Metzeler Roadtec Z6 tires front and rear. The original tool kit is still tucked away in it's storage compartment. Options: This motorcycle comes with BMW side bags (which have a few scratches/scuffs from travel), Corbin seat (I have the original BMW 2-person seat if you would like it), engine side guards, strobe rear brake light that flashes for a few seconds when the rear brake lever is engaged, and a front fender extension (on the lower part to keep the motor cleaner). Also, I had installed a larger windshield (the same one used on the Adventure series BMW). This motorcycle is very roadworthy. Just thinking about it makes me want to gear up and start riding west (I am originally from California). Most of the miles on this motorcycle are from highway miles. I have ridden three times to the west coast and once to Yellowstone National Park. The reason I am selling is because my wife and I (my riding partner who rode her own motorcycle) recently adopted a little girl. I have decided to take a few years off from motorcycling until she gets a little older. This motorcycle is being sold without warranty. Annual servicing includes changing the engine oil and filter, changing the transmission oil, and changing the rear wheel drive oil. The brake fluid was also changed. On top of this a safety check was performed.
