Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a nice Thames project. SELLING AS A ROLLER . THE PICTURED ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION ARE NOT INCLUDED,but are shown in a few pictures so that you can see that the chassis is ready for a big block chevy. Most all of the fab work is complete on this Thames, and it has many new parts. New rectangular tube chassis. The front suspension is a funny car type torsion bar assembly utilizing a tube axle with Anglia spindles. It was retained from the car's previous gasser days in the 60's and 70's. Steering is installed - uses an aluminum corvair box. Rearend is a 57-64 Olds/Pontiac with a 4;88 spool. It is a ladder bar setup with new coilovers. New Moser 31 spline axles. New 12 gal RCI aluminum fuel cell is installed, and it has a gauge sender. New fiberglass rear doors. New Mickey Thompson Sportsman Pros 29X15.5X15. New Replica Halibrand wheels on the REAR. Weld spindle mount prostar wheels on the front - the caps are available from Jegs. THE VINTAGE HALIBRAND WHEELS SHOWN ON THE FRONT IN THE PICTURES WITH THE ENGINE INSTALLED ARE NOT INCLUDED. New Strange Engineering disc brake kit on the rear. New Griffin aluminum radiator with 1.25 tubes and electric fan are installed.New Wilwood brake and clutch pedals installed. Three new Wilwood master cylinders( one each for front and rear brakes, and one for the hydraulic throwout bearing) are installed. Top has been filled with a skin from a chevy blazer. Contour is perfect, and top has ribs in the aft portion that look very nice. There is some warpage in small spots around the perimeter of the roof weld seam in the green painted portion. All of these spots are accessable from the inside and should be no problem for an experienced body man. New steering wheel with quick-release adapter. New Speedway gas pedal installed. New finned Speedway gauge panel installed. 2 like-new Kirkey aluminum racing seats are installed. The black padded upholstery covers on the seats are perfect with no holes or tears. The wheeltubs and most of the floor pans(steel) are installed. The trans hump and most of the front floorpan can be easily removed to install the trans, etc. The firewall is installed. My plan was to insulate with dynamat between the exposed square tubing that you see on the engine side of the firewall. Then a polished or chrome or painted skin would be installed over this giving a smooth look as well as some additional heat/noise protection as well as a cover for the rear of the gauges. You can literally bolt a big block chevy ( a small block would work as well) and Muncie 4 speed into this chassis right now. The trans crossmember is included as well as a brand new HD driveshaft from Denny's Driveshaft for a Muncie. I was using a hydraulic throwout bearing from McLeod Racing on my Muncie, and it was fully operational - thus you would have a complete drivetrain. Run the lines, and you have your rear brakes. If you need front brakes, the new master cylinder is installed. Wilwood makes a front disc brake kit (available from Jegs) that works with the Anglia spindle mount prostar wheels. Other parts included are a good windshield frame with a cracked windshield that is good as a template, new windshield rubber, good set of side window garnish moldings, a set of window templates that were made using original windows, a set of big block chevy headers (L/H needs repair), the latch rods for the rear doors, a stock Thames taillight,taillight/license plate bracket, new taillight gaskets, inside door handles, wheelibars, and a new blank Thames VIN plate. I do not have a title. The tilt fiberglass front end is a good street weight front end - not all floppy, but it does have a cut on the passenger side and has been cut out for a blower as shown. Probably not a diificult repair if you are good with fiberglass, which I am not. Body is in good shape with little or no rust. A previous owner had some body work done along with the green paint which is not good. I am not sure if it is a spray can job or just basecoat with no clear - but hey it kept the rust off. If you have an engine and trans available you could have them in in one day and the drivetrain would be complete. Other main items needed are brake and fuel lines, wiring and gauges, along with body work/paint. Selling with no reserve above starting price. PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU CAN'T PAY. THIS IS NOT A VIDEO GAME!! Also see my other items for sale, including a complete 6-71 blower kit with carbs.
