1972 Mercury Cougar XR7, 351 Cleveland 2 barrel with 58310 miles. I bought this car from the family of the original owner, it has an one owner title.It was bought new at Tenn Motor Company. I have all the original paper work,the purchase receipt, the warranty card, ect.. This car had not been outside its garage since 1986. The doors to garage had been screwed shut. The original owner sometime around 1993 decided to add some aftermarket engine parts, but never finished. Every part every bolt and nut was in baggies marked. He had replaced the fuel tank with a brand new one along with new fuel line fuel pump and new carb non of which had ever had fuel in them, also a new dist The front shocks have been replaced and the new rears are in the trunk where I found them.. I have the original parts except the old tank. I purchased the car not running with the intake removed, everything exposed was coated with white grease so there was no rust. I installed the original intake, valve covers and the new carb.On Sat.june the 25 I put gas in the tank primed the carb and it fired up.The engine runs great. It has ice cold A/C! The car has no issues. I have driven the car about 40 miles over 2 days. It drives good even with 1977 bias ply firestone supersports. The brakes are good, drives good and straight. The trans shifts great.There are no leaks. The interior of this car is amazing,no rips, the material is still soft,it had not seen the sun since 1986. There is no rust on this car, the vinyl top is like new.The only thing that dosent work is the clock The 8 track still works. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Pics of myself and a friend unscrewing the doors, the cougar sitting just the way we found it ,pushing the car out into the sun, the rollback ride to my garage.I also have a statement from the rollback driver who witnessed it all.On Jul-02-11 at 18:14:02 PDT, seller added the following information: After sending a bidder more pics we noticed a piece of trim missing above pass headlight on the hood.After a quick search of the extra parts, I found it in a baggie with the org screws.It is now back in place.
