Hello, let me start by saying that I realize how stressful it can be to buy a vehicle sight un-seen. I don't think a paragraph & 2 or 3 pictures is enough to accurately describe any vehicle, let alone a top of the line diesel pick-up. I want you to know everything I know about anything I list. For that reason, my postings tend to be a little on the long side. I also post 24 super sized pictures. Please take the time to read the item description & view the pictures. If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. I own a street rod shop & have sold vehicles to buyers all over the world. Everyone seems to be very happy with what they buy from me. I'm sure you will be also. DESCRIPTION- This is NOT your average utility truck! I own a small lake lot in South Carolina & I was lucky enough to talk my neighbor up there into selling me this amazing Chevrolet. His Father purchased the truck brand new with the intentions of starting an independant gas pump repair service. He had worked for a company that serviced pumps at small gas stations all over the Southeast for many years & had decided to go out on his own. Sadly, he was not able to start the company because he was diagnosed with cancer. He began traveling regularly between his home in South Carolina & a cancer treatment center in Texas, which explains the miles. This truck has never done a hard days work in it's life. 99% of the miles were done cruising on the freeway. It has never towed a trailer... other than occasionally being used to tow his bass boat from his home on Lake Hartwell to a nearby marina for service. This vehicle was the man's whole livelyhood. If it ever let him down... he would not have been able to keep up with his treatment schedule. For that reason, this truck has been maticulously serviced. Unfortunately he lost his battle with cancer in 2007. His Son inherited the truck & has put very few miles on it in the four years he's owned it. It has spent most of it's time sitting in the garage. The truck has still been driven regularly to keep everything in proper working order. Oil changes, filter changes etc... have been kept up with. Just prior to me purchasing the truck it received 2 brand new, top of the line, NAPA GOLD 75 month batteries. This is simply an amazing truck! Most utility body trucks you find are stripped down, long bed, 2wd, work truck model, duallies. He did not want that. He wanted a truck that he could drive everyday in total comfort yet still be suited for his pump business applications. So, he decided to special order this truck to his specifications. It is LOADED! Leather! Power! Premium wheels! Premium sound! Plus, it's a 4wd, a Duramax diesel, a short wheel base & has single rear wheels! I have the original window sticker. MSRP on this Chevy was $40,684.00... & that was with no bed! He paid cash so he was able to talk the dealership down a little. I have the original Buyer's Order which shows he paid $37,499.00 plus tax, tag & title. Basically 40 grand drive out, without any bed of any kind. He drove the truck straight to a local Knapkeide truck body retailer & paid an additional 10 grand for the brand new utility body. This is a super rare vehicle which cost the owner $50,000.00 to have built! Now it is being offered to you at NO RESERVE!!! I know that you are going to see that this truck has 235,100 miles showing & automatically think it is worn out. Please don't make that mistake! This truck looks, runs & drives like a truck with 35,000 miles! It's very nearly perfect! It's easy to see that, this man took better care of his truck than most of us take of ourselves. This Chevrolet with these options has a Kelley Blue Book Private Party Value of $15,265.... even with the miles. And a Retail Value of right at $17,000! I can't find one single door ding anywhere on this truck. The fenders are perfect. The hood is perfect. All four doors are perfect. The roof is perfect. There is not one single hail ding. This is a truck that is built to work so you would expect to see a dent, or ding, or scrape but there is nothing! All of the door hinges & latches are as new. There is no door sag or drop at all. Everything is as tight as it can be. The paint is 100% factory original & is also beautiful. There are no thin spots or scuffed places. There are no noticeable scratches. I did nothing more than hand wash this truck & just look how it shines. It is completely dry in the pictures yet you can see my refelection & the reflection of nearby buildings & trees in most of the photos. Just imagine how it would shine with a professional detail & wax! The truck has always been garaged so there is no oxidation on any of the trim, or the weather stripping, or the tail light lenses, etc... This is a LS so it has factory chrome mirror & grill treatments, factory front tow hooks, side body moldings & fender flares. Plus many other exterior options. This GM pick-up is a 1 owner, life long Central South Carolina vehicle so there is absolutely no rust or corrosion on anything.... anywhere! This truck has never been used off road so the underside is as clean as the outer body! UTILITY / SERVICE BODY- Knapheide has always been known as the premier manufacturer of utility bodies. These beds are built to last with the user in mind. This particular model is rare because it was custom built specifcally for a short wheel base, single rear tire, 3/4 ton suspension vehicle. It is perfectly matched to this Chevy. Driving the truck, you would never know it has anything other than a pick-up truck bed. It is just as maneuverable as any other short wheel base, extended cab truck! It's not big & bulky like most service trucks. This is a 6 cabinet model & I have both of the original keys. Each one fits all six cabinets. It's easy to see that this bed has not been worked out of much. The original owner used it around his home to carry lawn mowers, gardening tools etc... so the insides of the of the cabinets do have a few little scratches but NOTHING like you would expect to find in a work body of this type. The doors are all very very very straight & nice. All of the rubber seals are in like new condition. All 6 cabinets stay DRY inside! There is NO rust in the cabinet floors! There are several adjustable shelves. Since the bed was never really put into service by the previous owner, several of the shelf dividers are still brand new in their original packaging! Since the paint from the service body dealer is not as high quality as the factory Chevrolet paint... there are a few touch-ups along the tops of the cabinet boxes due to peeling. The white color makes the minor touch-ups very difficult to notice. The bed color matches the body color perfectly. All in all, this vehicle looks great! All lights are working. The tail lights are LED. There is a very nice ladder / pipe rack in place which can be removed in minutes when not in use. There is also a working vice mounted to the heavy duty rear bench / bumper. Under the rear bumper is a nice class-V receiver hitch & plugs for both 7 pin & flat 4 trailer wiring. Inside the cab is a very nice electric trailer brake controller. This top of the line utility body has had very little use & is well suited for countless tasks. It cost the owner $10,000 plus the ladder rack... & would cost the same if purchased new today! INTERIOR & OPTIONS- Since this is a Sliverado LS Edition, the interior is very plush & loaded with options. The interior is Dark Pewter Gray. Because this Chevy has never been worked out of & has always been owned by a man who takes care of his things, the inside of this truck is as clean & nice as the outside. Everything looks, feels, smells & operates very much like new. There are no worn places in the carpet. No matting. The carpet looks brand new. There are no odors or unpleasant smells. The door panels are all perfect. The headliner is perfect. The dash is perfect. The driver's seat bottom does show a very light amount of wear.... very light. The driver's seat back shows no wear. The passenger side front seat looks as though it has never been sat in. The rear seat looks as though it has never been sat in & can be folded up flat against the rear wall of the cab to allow for large items to be hauled / stored, dry & secure inside the cab. All of the interior trim panels are as new. There's no damage that I can find to anything. It is easy to tell that this truck has been cared for & never worked hard. This vehicle is loaded with options. It is more like a luxury car than a pick-up! There are power windows & locks. Both front seats are power & heated. Both outside mirrors are also power. The rear window is heated. Power tilt steering. Power ABS 4-wheel disc brakes. Intermittant wipers. Cruise control. Leather wrapped steering wheel. 6-way leather/power bucket seats. Locking center console. Off-Road skid plate package. Factory locking rear differential. Factory AM/FM CD Cassette with Bose premium sound. Full instrumentation. Overhead console. Power rear view mirror with built in digital compass & thermometer. Oversized cup holders. Daytime running lights. Electronic climate control with ice cold a/c & toasty warm heat. Factory keyless entry alarm with key fob control & panic feature. (I have both original keys & both original working key fobs) Not to mention the 6.6 liter Duramax turbo diesel engine & 5 speed automatic Allison transmission. I'm sure there are options I am leaving out. I believe this rare service truck has every single available option minus a sun roof, On-Star & XM satellite radio. According to the window sticker, there is $10,468.00 worth of optional equipment on this Chevrolet! Every single option works as it should inside & out on this amazing truck! All of the side glasses & the rear glass are factory privacy tinted. The front windshield is free from cracks. DRIVETRAIN- The drivetrain is the heart of any vehicle & must be maintained in order to ensure a long, useful life. I know this diesel has been properly maintained from end to end. If you didn't know the year & mileage.... you would think you were driving a new truck when you are in this 01 Chevy. I have always been a die hard 5.9 Cummins Diesel owner. I have owned Cummins powered Dodges for the last decade. This is my 1st 6.6 Duramax & I am sold! This is the quietest, smoothest running diesel pick-up I have ever been in. This truck is 100% bone stock, yet it has far more get up & go than the Cummins powered Dodges or Power Stroke powered Fords I have owned in the past. Plus it gets better fuel mileage! This Duramax diesel engine runs just like new. It cranks up instantly on the coldest of mornings. No need to plug in. As soon as it starts the oil pressure goes up & stays up all day. There is no smoke of any color. There is no blow-by from the oil cap or dipstick tube. There is no skipping or stumbling. No overheating. No abnormal noises. No fluid leaks. Nothing but clean, smooth, quiet, power. According to the records this engine has always been serviced using factory filters & 15W40 Rotella T diesel engine oil. Though we could not find the receipt, I was assured that this vehicle DID have the injector recall performed in 2007. The original owner's Son remembers taking the truck in for this service just before his Father passed away. All 8 injectors were replaced by the dealership using brand new, up-graded units from Bosch. This 2500HD is factory equipped with a heavy duty Allison 5 speed automatic transmission. These are known to be the best transmissions you can get in any pick-up truck. This one shifts flawlessly. According to the sevice records it has always been serviced at the dealership. This transmission does have the TOW / HAUL feature. This option provides you far greater control when pulling any kind of trailer. It works far better than an exhaust brake. When in the Tow/Haul mode, this Allison transmission does not freewheel or coast when you are slowing down. It uses the engine's back pressure to slow the vehicle & your load. This option makes towing safer, plus it puts less pressure on the trucks conventional brakes & the brakes of your trailer. The electronic, shift on the fly, transfer case works just like new in all 2 & 4 wheel drive settings. Both the front & rear differentials are as tight & quiet as new. The rear has a factory locker & 3.73:1 ratio. This truck has been completely serviced from end to end with all new fluids & filters within the last few thousand miles. All of the steering & suspension components are nice & tight. There is no slop or play in anything. This truck drives as straight as an arrow. It does not wander, dip, dart, shake, nothing. The four wheel, anti-lock disk brakes perform just like new. No pulsation. No grabbing or pulling. Driving this Chevy is very much like driving a new truck. There are no rattles. There is no wind noise around the windows or doors. Just a very smooth & comfortable ride. TIRES & WHEELS- According to the receipts, this truck has always ran on LT285/75/16 Uniroyal Radials. That is what's on it now. The current set has 40-50% tread life remaining. All four are wearing straight & evenly. There is no cupping or feathering. These tires make for a smooth & quiet ride. The wheels are the factory premium polished alloys. Since this truck has never been used off road, the wheels & caps are all in like new condition. TITLE- I have a clean, clear, fully transferable title from the original owner's Son, in his name, on this Chevrolet. It is ready to be transferred to you. I had planned to keep it forever but as luck would have it, I have ran across an unbelievable deal on a late model rollback wrecker. I need the rollback for my business but can't afford both so I must let this beautiful Chevy go. This is one of those vehicles that doesn't come along very often. It is hard enough to find a one owner vehicle... but to find one this highly optioned & equipped is nearly impossible! And I have never seen another 3/4 ton truck that has been used like a Toyota Camry it's whole life. This an extremely capable Silverado was built to handle the heaviest of loads but I would bet this one has never had more than 100 pounds in it's bed. A new, similarly equipped, 2500HD would cost you somewhere in the $60,000 range. This truck is not new but it is in close to new condition & is going to sell for a small fraction of new price. It seems they enter the highest amount they are willing to pay & then let eBay's computers bid on their behalf up to that amount. Since eBay's computers can bid for you far faster than the other members can type, most of the time a member who entered their max bid early is able to hold off all the last second bidders & win the auction. Now I am not trying to tell anyone how to bid..... I am simply telling you what I have noticed. I always get emails from people after one of my auction's ends saying things like (Sunday dinner ran over & I missed the end, please let me know if the item is still for sale. I really want it).... or (My computer froze when I was placing my last bid & by the time I got it working, the auction was over.
