Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1972 International Scout II. The body is straight, surprisingly for a vehicle this old, except for near the rear back right tail light. I have sold a motorcycle and vintage Selmer saxophone (high priced items) to go along with my perfect feedback, so bid confidently. Any questions at all, feel free to email me. Additions: 1) Terra Top Conversion (Fiberglass top) - makes for easy convertible access as the top weighs 44 lbs, just loosen the bolts inside the cab. as scout enthusiasts know, these tops can be hard to find and are a great addition $400 2) Brand New Skyjacker 2-3 inch Leaf Suspension Lift with Nitro Shocks - huge addition; a suspension lift $1100 3) new upholstered bench seat - had it done in vinyl so it can be easily wiped clean $400 4) Electronic Ignition w/ ignition coil - Pertronix $175 5) Heavy Duty Shackle Install w/Sway Bar - from IH only north $200 6) Grant Steering Wheel - very nice steering wheel $125 7) New Distributor Cap, Plugs & Plug Wires 8) New Starter - $80 9) New Turbo Exhaust - $550 10) BRAND NEW Holley Carb 350 cfm with electric choke (though i have yet to connect the electric choke) and Holley Spacer $400 11) New poly bushings for leafs and shackles - huge pain, but handles better (don't remember how much) 12) New Napa battery - 750 amps $85 The Good: Always starts, runs strong, can get over 80 mph on highway, looks good, stiff suspension...its a Scout with a sweet top! The Bad: 1) Slow leak from right valve cover through bolts, simple fix as they just need to be bumped or sealed up with some goo 2) Rear wheel well rust - not an expensive fix as the panels can be bought for $125 each side and welded on, or you could just cut it out and go for a more open look 3) Bed Rust - not too bad, easily cut out and replaced with new sheet metal (presented itself when the roll cage was taken out). The rest of the bed is quite good, just a bit of surface rust 4) The cab is pretty standard, some surface rust under the mats and a few small pits...the entire floor could be replaced, if you did a complete restoration, as I was going to anyway for cheap...especially if you can weld. But it IS solid 5) Do not have the electric choke connected, so it idles a bit high...just needs to be connected to a 12 volt source All in all, its in good shape and I was able to get through a lot of the things I wanted to do. At this point, fixing the rust and getting a paint job would set it up for a very nice looking Scout, though I get plenty of compliments as it stands now. Surprising how many people notice it actually. Originally, I could not part with it as I brought it with me from Washington when I moved to Texas. I just do not have the time it to use it and/or finish restoring it. Sad, I know. It is currently running 33 x 10.5 and the rear 2 have good tread left. I have driven the Scout up to 400 miles round trip without issues. * almost forgot...the door locks need to be replaced, but I will include the new hardware to the auction winner. also included is a new key ignition lock, if preferred, so as to have one key for everything.
