Here is the Ariel HS 500cc Scrambler - 1956, the Mk.3, being the last version of the HS with the oil tank on the left, full width hubs and airfilter on right. The HS has high compression, all-alloy, performance engine with high-lift cams. It is fitted with the Lucas Racing Magneto as standard. Original frame and engine: the Scrambler frame (#PRS 242), and HS engine (#MH291). Has a clear California Title. Machine was originally bought new and owned by Bud Ekins (two owners ago). This machine has excellent compression and runs very strong with a mechanically quiet engine. It is stock other than the front fender having been shortened (bobbed), a muffler fitted to the exhaust pipe and the airfilter box is missing. An airbox can be made to order: the originals used the same metal shell as the Red Hunter oil tank on the right side. I will refer the buyer to the maker. Has original fenders, stock center stand and seat (nice). This model did not come with a chainguard and were fitted with a standard rear sprocket and this is under an overlay sprocket for higher gearing. Has correct and original Amal 13/16 in. 389/12 carburetor with K&N Filter. Tank has very good paint and chrome and no dents. Very good overall condition and fine example of a rare Ariel model with less than 800 Trials (HT) and Scrambler models made.
