Vehicle Detail

This auction is for a fantastic 1994 GoldWing SE. The SE's are the top of the line and this bike has every option available on the bike. I bought this bike 3 months ago, specifically for a tour around the United States. This bike didn't disappoint, I just got back today from a 28 day 7000 miles trip and the bike performed beautifully with absolutely no problems or surprises. It is too big for my everyday use and I have already replaced it with a 500cc Honda Shadow, so it is time to let someone else enjoy this bike the way it was meant to be. This bike has 128,000 miles on it which may seem high, but it runs and drives like new and Gold Wings are known to last for up to 300,000 miles. I bought this bike from the original owner 3 months ago with 120,000 miles on it. The original owner used to tour regularly and put 110,000 miles on the bike in the first 7 years, mostly on long trips around the states. He is now over 70 and the last 10 years has only driven the bike 10,000 miles, basically on shorter weekend trips. At 70 he could no longer drive it, so that is why he sold it to me. It has never been laid down, or in an accident and it has never towed a trailer. It has had a lot of easy country miles on it. The original owner had all Honda scheduled maintenance done on time at the shop he bought it from. It has always been garaged kept. It really does look and drive almost like new, with just a couple small scratches here and there. The original owner changed the oil and filter every 3000 miles, which I have continued, having now changed it 3 times in my 8000 miles of driving. It never leaks or burns any oil and when it is changed it is extremely clean. When I got the bike I did the following to it to get it ready for the long tour (at 121,500 miles): 1. Changed out the timing belts...the original owner did it at 60,000 miles so to be on the safe side I changed them. 2. Had the front forks rebuilt. 3. Had the carburetors rebuilt and synchronized. 4. Complete tuneup with new plugs, oil and filter change, and air filter change. 5. Two brand new tires, originally Kenda Kruzers, but had to replace the rear with a Michelen after running over a couple nails. Lastly I have changed the oil and filter at 124,500 and 127,500 miles. This bike has all the options including: a. Cruise Control - not just a throttle lock but a car like cruise control that has set, resume, accel, etc. It is a treat on those long drives b. AM/FM stereo Cassette. Can be listened to through the helmet (2 matching white helmets included in the auction), or through the speakers. At half volume can hear it fine through the speakers at freeway speeds. c. Reverse - I laughed when I first heard this, but it is a lifesaver if you have to back up an incline. d. On board air compressor to inflate a flat tire or to increase or decrease the stiffness of the rear air shocks. e. CB radio and interphone to talk to passenger. f. Heat...which comes in very handy on a cold night. Heat blows from engine through vents onto you legs and lap area. Very nice. g. Nice adjustable backrest. Really too much to list, just know that it has it all. This bike served me very well on my trip. I averaged just over 40 mpg doing the speed limit,,,go a bit slower you do better, faster and worse. I put in a couple really long days, the longest being Rochester, MN to Denver, CO, which was just on 900 miles and 13 hours, but I really wasn't that fatigued. On the 500 mile days it is a piece of cake. In addition to the bike, the auction includes two matching white helmets, a Clymer manual for the Gold Wing ($50 value), an extra battery (I carried an extra on my trip, just in case, a $70 insurance policy). The battery is actually for an 1800 Gold wing, slightly smaller than the 1500's, but fits in the slot and connects up fine...I just like the smaller one to take up less space. The bike has highway boards on it and also the large boards for the driver...all offering many different sitting positions on the long drive. The bike could use a new windscreen. The old one is fine, but it is getting just a bit hazy and has some scratching. Wasn't really a problem, but if I was keeping it, I would replace it. The bike is located in Long Beach, CA and is available for pickup only, unless you do all the legwork to have it shipped. We can discuss that if required. I will require a $500 paypal deposit within 48 hours of auction end and the balance in cash on pickup, no paypal for the full amount. Of course, as this is a used bike, the bike is sold "as is, where is", with no returns. Finally, I am an airline pilot who lives in Australia and travels to Long Beach 2-3 times per month. The bike must be picked up on either July 4th or July 5th. If not, the next time I will be here is July 20th. As the hotel manager only lets me keep one bike in the garage, I need to have it moved on the 4th or 5th. One last note, somebody stole the right hand side cover (plastic cover over the battery) while parked at a hotel. I will try to get a replacement, but probably won't have time, so I will deduct $50 from the final bid price in order for you to buy one. Feel free to e-mail me with questions...you will get a response quicker if you send it to "billcurry@gmail.com" Lastly, this is a no reserve auction. I will let the auction run to the end and the high bidder will be the lucky owner of this great bike. Below is a youtube video of the bike followed by still pictures On Jun-30-11 at 15:18:18 PDT, seller added the following information: Ialthough I prefer to have this bike picked up on the 4th or 5th of July, it can be shipped or picked up later if required...just contact me with your needs. On Jul-02-11 at 23:04:19 PDT, seller added the following information: Hey Bidders, I am not firm on the pickup date. I prefer to have it picked up on July 4th or 5th, but will work with you to get it picked up on a date that works for you...just let me know if you win and we will work it out. GREAT BIKE...don't miss out!!
