OK, I HAVE HAD PEOPLE PURCHASE THIS BUG THREE TIMES AND THEN COME UP WITH SOME LAME ASS EXCUSE ABOUT WHY THEIR COMPUTER MAGICALLY INSERTED AN AMOUNT THEY KNEW NOTHING ABOUT. LOOK, IF YOU ARE GOING TO BID, THEN FOR CHRIST SAKE HAVE THE INTEGRITY TO MAN-UP AND FOLLOW THROUGH ON YOUR ACTIONS, OTHERWISE, GO TO CRAIGSLIST. THESE AUCTIONS COST TIME AND MONEY. For the last time, up for sale is an un-restored, unmolested, rare triple black number matching 1979 VW Bug Convertible. It is one of the last of it's kind produced (you can tell by the serial number) The real value of this car is that it does not have 100s of thousands of miles on it so the engine, transmission, steering rack, etc is not all worn out. Only 47,000 original miles. I purchased the car from the owner of Recycled Bus, Inc that has been in business for over 40 years. The owner was going to restore this for himself. I purchased it, but don't have the time to do it so I am passing it on. Everything is there. New set of Michelin 165/15 tires. Yes it runs. We drove it into the space off the shipping truck in November 2010. This is a restoration project, not a daily driver. It needs to be restored. Rust in the usual places. This model and this year is the top of it's class. I've got the price way below it's value. Don't let it get away. Ask questions. Good luck. Also, I have a replacement top that I will throw in for the winner. Better jump in fellas. This is a FIXED PRICE, so it's going to go to some lucky bidder. If it does, you will morn your loss and kick yourself for not grabbing this unique classic collectible at a ridiculously low price. UPDATE FOR 6/23/2011. Lowered the fixed price to $2,400.00.
