Vehicle Detail
My intent on the restoration of this car was to build an extremely nice driver although many people have considered it to be show worthy. It was a body-on restoration including replacement of rusty body panels including new floor pans. All of the chrome is new and the stainless has been straightened and polished. The 292 engine and the automatic transmission were rebuilt and run great. The stock brake system was completely restored. The duel exhaust system is new. The interior has been completely redone including restoration of the dash and all other trim. The car has the original factory powering steering. The only non-stock changes to the car was the addition of air conditioning with air ducts molded into the dash and the placement of an oil pressure gauge and a volt meter in place of the old warning lights and clock. The air conditioning system is activated by the original heater/defrost controls. The car has a radio delete plate in place of the radio. The paint is stock Ford yellow and white on the outside and the interior is brown and tan with bronze trim. The tires are Coker wide whites mounted on the stock rims. Everything on the car works as it should. Work on the car was completed early this year. This car was built to keep but I have decided that house projects need to become my priority. My desire is to honestly represent the overall condition of the car so in that light I want to also share the following: The paint is very nice overall but has a few rock chips that have been touched up. There are a few minor paint chips where the doors meet the body. In my opinion the paint flaws are minor and are only noticeable upon close inspection. The doors and hood could use some professional adjustment to make the gaps more consistent. The windshield has some scratches in it that can affect visibility when the bright sun hits it just right. For safety reasons, I would recommend eventual replacement of the windshield. Although the stock power steering works fine, the system has a few leaks and should be rebuilt. The car has the original suspension system. The front cross member is very solid with no signs of rust. The suspension system was not touched in the restoration since the car drives and handles great and there are no signs of rust or excessive wear. I have tried to fairly represent both the positive and negative aspects of the vehicle. Please contact Denis at (541) 941- 0329 if you have any questions regarding any aspect of the car.
