Vehicle Detail

This is a 1985 Gmc High Sierra 1500 shortbed pick up truck. Included with this truck are, 6" BDS suspension lift kit, 37x13.5x15 Dick Cepek Fun Country tires mounted on American racing aluminum wheels and nitrogen filled. The tires have no more than about 2500 miles on them and are in great condition. As you can see this is a work in progress vehicle. I no longer have the time or place to complete this project. The engine is a 350. The trans is a manual 4 speed trans. During the body work process I removed the rain gutters from around the doors and also removed the high sierra markings on the fenders and also the body moldings. After these were removed I welded shot all the holes because I wanted to give the body a smooth look when painted. The bottom corners of the rear of the cab are rusted. I removed part of them, with intentions of replacing them with new metal corners.( I do have the brand new corners but never installed them ). There is a tilt wheel, but at one point there was a problem with the inner workings of the ignition on the steering column and I had to drill the colum to get to the starting pin. The key works but only to unlock the steering column. I have a special made tool that fits on the left side of the steering column and that is what activates the starter. ( No this truck was never stolen ). I do have the front grill and other trim parts for the front of the truck, and these are in good condition. There is a crack in the windshield on the lower right corner. The interior floor has been sanded and painted. The body has been entirely sanded and sprayed in a gray primer, but the primer has worn down and needs to be done again before painting. The truck is old but it still runs good and the frame and body are in very solid condition. I used it during the last 2 weekends. Not sure how many miles are on it, but a good guess would be no more than 95,000 at the most. I have owned this truck for almost 5 years. The mileage shown is not correct. The speedo does not work ( the cable is probably broken from trans to speedo ). Is this truck perfect ? No it is not. But, if you are looking for a great project truck that will not take a lot of time to complete and you want to have a great looking jacked up classic truck, this is it. With the lift and the tires combo and being a shortbed this is one tough looking truck. I just don't have time to finish it myself. Please look at all the pics and email with any questions. I will answer as best as possible.
