Vehicle Detail
This is a 1968 Corvette numbers matching convertible with 78k original miles. It is a 327 cubic inch 300 hp model with a 4 speed manual transmission. The engine runs strong and the transmission shifts smoothly. It is a blast too drive and always gets lots of attention. In the time that I have had it I have always kept it covered in my garage. The headlights are fully functional turn on and flip up perfectly and the fiber optics are all functional except for one of the tailights. All guauges are fully functional except for the clock. The convertible top is great condition. Currently there is a Hurst shifter installed but I have the factory shifter in a box that will go along with the car. I also have the original alternator too. This is a solid and clean florida car and I bought it a couple of years ago thinking that I would complete a couple of small projects and really have a great looking toy. Unfortunalty my job doesn't leave me the time I need to finish it up so it has pretty much just sat in my garage. This was originally a hunter green color but was repainted to maroon by a previous owner. Whoever repainted it did a great job with changing the color as I've never been able to find a trace of the original green. The paint looks great at 10 feet away but up close you can see there has been some bubbling that has appeared in 3 places. If you look at the pics the worst of it is on the right rear fender. There are small spots on the rear deck and left rear fender, but they are so minimal I couldn't get them to show in the pics. Overall I would give the paint a 3 out of 10. At first I was going to repaint and then decided it didn't bother me enough to put out the money. As with any driver quality car this one is not perfect. There is a small oil leak that has developed within the last year. The right convertible top latch is missing ($63 at ecklers). There is a split in both the drivers and passenger seat on the seam where you sit and the emergency brake isn't functioning. About 6 months ago I replaced the wiper motor and the wipers worked. Now they won't work, I suspect that the switch is bad but havent had a chance to replace it. The vacuum override for the cowl is still functional so I don't think it is an issue with the vacuum system. Also, the horn isn't working. While taking the pictures I noticed a crack in the drivers side floorpan (see pic). The 1968 had fiberglass floor pans and can actually be fixed fairly easily with a patch kit. If you require any more specific pictures or information please just let me know.
