This is my 1996 F250 and it's a shame to see her go. This is the heavy duty model, 8800 lb. GVWR with the full floating rear axle and 8 lug wheels (very tough!). Despite that she rides quite well and drives excellent. The 5-speed stick has a granny-gear type first, so if you're not towing or hauling just start with second gear. It's a heavy duty clutch (bulletproof) so the pedal does take a little muscle, I got used to it in just about an hour and haven't noticed it since. The 7.3 liter Powerstroke Turbodiesel engine runs like it just got broken in - always starts right up and never falters. I recently replaced the alternator and both batteries, and replaced the fuel pump as well as all the hoses and o-rings in the underhood fuel system as these were still the originals and had begun to leak. This truck drips nothing now and is mechanically excellent! Dual fuel tanks keep you driving longer and this is an excellent highway truck. She's a supercab model, with back seat that folds down to a flat metal load floor. Seating capacity is six total, front seats are bucket with center fold-down console. It's the XLT model with power windows and door locks, cruise control, ice cold air conditioning and all of it works very well. All the gauges function properly. I just installed a new Pioneer CD/MP3 head unit with USB input (controls ipods and can take thumbdrives) and aux input (for other mp3 players) with new Pyle speakers all around. The system sounds great and it's awesome to click a thumbdrive loaded with music into the radio and drive all day! The seats are cloth with no rips or tears - a couple very small stains that do not detract from the overall excellent appearance. The adjustable lumbar in both buckets does not work but that is the only thing I can think of that does not work! The previous owner did haul some things in the rear cab that gouged the plastic panels on the back and sides in the back seat area, but it's not bad. There are cupholders in the front console and both back seat armrests, dome and map lights, and a sliding rear window. The front door panels are in good shape and the dashboard is in very good shape except for some small holes from equipment the previous owner had (most have been plugged) and a small 1/4 inch crack in the soft dash pad. This truck was made to work but has been taken good care of. That being said, there are signs of use such as a couple small dings and some minor scratches, a dent in the back right corner from a horse trailer and a ding in the front right fender (see pics). The bed has a bedliner and there is a gooseneck hitch with chain hooks. In back is a heavy duty receiver hitch with electrical connector as well as a ball on the chrome bumper. I just put in new tailgate hinge bushings and the gate works like new. Diamond plate covers protect the bed rails. There is a Reese brand trailer brake controller installed under the dash. The paint looks absolutely fantastic for the age of this truck! The only spots of clearcoat fade are on the drivers door, which was replaced by a previous owner. The donor truck was the same paint scheme but had not been taken care of as well, so the white portion is slightly faded next to the rest of the truck and there is some clearcoat fade under the driver window and along the top of the door. Both doors open and close properly with none of the hinge wear some of these trucks have that causes the doors to drop when they open.
