Up for sale is my 97 VW Passat TDI. I have owned it since 2007 when I bought it with 212k miles. It currently has 274k miles. It runs and drives fine and gets great gas mileage. I currently average 40-45 mpg but it depends on how you drive it. I have taken pretty good care of this vehicle changing it with the proper synthetic oil every 3-4k miles. The good: 1. Clutch replaced - apx 3k miles ago 2. New Tires (all 4) - apx 4k miles ago 3. New Battery - apx 15k miles ago 4. New injection pump - 25k miles ago 5. New injectors and nozzles (stock) - 25k miles ago 6. New timing belt & water pump - 30k miles ago 7. All new brakes - 25k miles ago 8. New Bilstein HD suspension (shocks & struts) - 25k miles ago 9. New alternator - 35k miles ago The bad: 1. Outside door handles for two rear doors are broken. Can open form the inside but the handles need replaced. 2. Drivers window gear needs replaced. Window can still go up and down but if it goes all the way down it gets out of gear and needs to be lifted to catch again. This is why the drivers side door panel is off. I have the panel and all the parts but it is a lot easier to get it back on track without the panel on. 3. Heater core is not connected to engine. I noticed a small leak and found one of the fittings which the coolant hose connects to was cracked. I basically have it routed now so that the heater core is bypassed. This does not affect anything other then hot air does not come out of the vents. 4. There are a few rust spots (very small) on the drivers door and rear passenger side doors. See pictures. 5. Carpet is missing in the trunk 6. Seat belt strap is missing for the rear passenger on the drivers side. It retracted all the way in when I had to unbolt it to replace the rear shocks and I just never got a replacement. 7. Check engine light is on but it has been on since I have owned it and I have not experienced any problems Other then that this car runs good and has much more life left in it. This engine is one of the best TDI engines made and they are known for lasting a long time. Feel free to contact me with any questions. Thanks for looking at my auction and good luck!
