Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is TWO 1970 Pontiac Bonnevilles. The black one is the one with the title and the one I use to personally drive for many years as a young adult. I only have limited info about the goldish color one. I purchased the goldish colored one off of EBAY back in 2006. I bought it as a parts car because it was complete even thou seller had no title and said it at that time was sitting in the New Mexico sun for 20 plus years. I needed and wanted a complete parts car because parts for these cars are hard to find and i needed electrical components because teh black bonneville has a wiring issue under teh dash and a donor car was perfect solution. I have put a battery in it to see what works. Well all lights horn and radio worked fine. Didn't attempt to try to start due to car sat so long and car wasn't purchased for the motor to crank over. But being it is also equipped with a 455 and a turbo 400 transmission with A/C is definitely nice. It has power windows which worked and has front disc brakes. The odometer shows 3770 but it could very well be 103770 due to the odometer doesn't register that high. Just being honest because the last owner had no clue either. The paint one car is shot due to the desert heat. The desert heat kills the paint on cars but at least they don't rust. That's why there are a bunch of classic car junk yards out west, hence their inventory stays preserved for classic car restoration hobbyist. Ok now the black bonneville. I drove this car my senior year in high school and then 4 more years after that as a daily driver. It also has a 455 Pontiac engine with engine code YH (370 HP) date code Jan 15th 1970. For the less informed the Pontiac 455 engine debut in 1970 so this cars engine is 2 weeks into production. It's now a 462 with 6X heads (I still have the 15's to go with the car). The pistons are TRW with moly rings with ARP rod bolts. Yes the crank is a Nodular Iron crank factory not the weaker cast one. The cam is a lunati .470/.470 with duration of 230/230 single pattern. Up top the intake is a Edelbrock Performer with a Edelbrock carb 750 cfm. The exhaust is of course duals with 2.5 inch pipes to Dynomax mufflers and 3 inch tips. Yes this engine is very strong with enough torque to yes it stripped the turbo 400 transmission case ribs that hold the clutches on the inside after a fresh engine and a fresh transmission rebuild. The transmission of course has been fitted with a shift kit, stronger sprag and the blue clutches and up front is a 2200 stall from TCI. The driveshaft has been done with SPICER U-joints for safety and is linked to a GM 12 bolt with 2.93 open rear ratio. The rear differential has factory bolt in axles with aftermarket axle bearings. The front suspension has disc brakes along with all ball joints and bushings and tie rods have been replaced with PST components back in 2003. I have a new black carpet still in the box for the car along with a set of floor mats still in the box and a new in the box car cover made just for the 1970 bonneville. These cars are huge 19ft 4 inches long you can't just use and cover. I'm selling the cars because im moving up north and the cars have never been to northern climates with snow and salt and I wouldn't wanna see them in the snow and salt. They are located in Brunswick Georgia at a 24hr accessible storage facility. If the winning bidder besides to pay for the cars and pick up after the agreed terms to pick up and pay they can pay the storage fees of $40.00 each car due on the first of each month. Neither of the cars are running to start and drive as they both have been sitting for many years. If you are bidding then you know how to restore cars. All sales are final and nonrefunable deposit is expected within 48 hours of end of auction and remaining balance is due within 7 business days or if another agreement is made with the seller. If you have any additional questions feel free to ask. please note i have encountered ALOT of emails about the cars and many have said they needed more time for money and i have talked to each via email and on cell. so the cars are relisted for their time and i have given each of them buy it now prices and so i do reserve the right to sell outside of ebay as long as the reserve price isnt made. I WILL NOT BE RELOCATING these cars to the north and subjecting these cars to the snow ice and salt. so happy bidding and enjoy On Jun-12-11 at 08:00:19 PDT, seller added the following information:
