You are bidding on an exceptional, original, unmolested and absolutely rust free 1973 Porsche 914 1.7. Originally from San Bernadino, California and still has the original blue California plates. The car came to Canada in 1992 with only 43712 miles on it, then into a collection where it was stored and seldom driven until 2005 thus now it has only 54000 miles on it. I am the third owner from new. Originally purchased from Walters Porsche in Riverside California, all books and records are present, including owners manual, stamped maintenance manual and service records. Original engine # EB008872 , VIN # 4732924483, door tag code NR2449541, paint code L96D Silver Metallic. BODY- there is no rust, anywhere, battery box, hell hole, longitudinals, rockers, floors are original and perfect. Door jambs, trunks and engine bay are untouched and have shiny clean factory paint. There are a few very small scratches in the original paint from garage storage but are minor and could be touched up, 90 percent of the paintwork is original, a couple of touch ups professionally done when the car had a rake scratch the trunk lid while in garage storage. There is a small dent in the rear right chrome bumper, not creased so it will come out without marking the chrome.All glass, chrome, rubber seals are excellent. Windows roll up and down smoothly. All electrical items work as new including the radio. Doors close with a satisfying click. ENGINE- full engine and transmission reseal after long term storage, no leaks, valve adjustment, fuel injectors, clutch, pressure plate, and tune up at 48000 miles, receipts for $5180, work completed by an independent Porsche shop, Reigel Tuning in Calgary. This 914 has it's original fuel injection and heat exchanges, car starts and idles perfectly. No noises or misses, it runs strong with no exhaust smells, it is fully tuned. CHASSIS- steering is tight and responsive, brakes are new as are the Dunlop sport tires on Mahle rims. New shocks and a 4 well alignment, perfect driver, steers straight and stops in a straight line. INTERIOR- perfect rare crack free dash, no repairs this is how it came from the factory, original basket weave seats and door panels, no marks, cuts cracks or separations. No extra speakers cut into panels or switches drilled into the dash, everything is as it came from the factory. All lights, gauges, fans, heater works fine. Very nice original steering wheel. No wear on the original carpets as well. This 914 could be considered as a preservation class Porsche, hard to find one that is still in such factory original untouched condition. I am a long standing member of PCA and have a collection of various years and types of Porsche. Unfortunately this car will go to a new home to make room for an early 356.
