I'm selling my 1984 FJ60 due to life sucking. The Pro's: super smooth 2F, ran like a swiss watch until the alternator went. It's been sitting for the past 3 months and might need a battery as well, but has no other critical issues. A compression check was done when I had it in for service at ACC in Atlanta (a top notch LC shop) and all 6 cylinders were within spec for a new engine except #5 which was just barely outside of new but well within range for years of service. I only mention it out of honesty. Always started, even in winter, and ran beautifully. H55F 5 speed - the one you want. Shifts great - a little play in the shifter but it never falls out of gear and is smooth on the highway - easily cruises in the high 60's - 70's without a hiccup. 4WD is fully functional - transfer case rebuilt about 3 years ago. Rock solid. Warn locking hubs - no issues - tight and solid. 33x12.5 Pit Bull Growlers - 2 years old. Not my first choice of tire but these have years of use left in them. Matching spare. 3" OME lift. No sag, great ride, super clearance. Lock to lock steering with no issues. Warn XD9000 winch - fully functional - no issues. Good cable and remote control. ARB bushbar - also the one you want. Two aftermarket floods attached and correctly wired in. Stereo and Sirius satellite in place and working - but it has the original speakers and one of them is fried, so you'll need to get speakers. Good, clean interior. 5 minutes with a vaccuum and your Aunt Ethel would be proud to sit in it. The dash isn't split up and all gauges work except that the dashlights are off/on - it was on the "to do" list. Cobra 40 channel CB - perfectly fine - with antenna, wired in, works great, ready for the trail. Comes with a 2" thick stack of receipts - everything on this truck was saved - incredible paper trail. The Issues: Needs an alternator. It might need a battery, but there were no battery issues before. Needs the front knuckles done in the next year or so. You could still take it to Alaska and back but that's on the horizon. Needs the choke cable re-attached before winter. Could use a power steering pump - I added fluid once a month or so. They all need a PS pump. Is not going to pass emissions - has been desmogged. Runs beautifully, but it won't pass unless you want to rebuild the emissions system from scratch. (Haha - have fun.) I have a clean Tennessee Antique title - no title issues if you don't need emissions clearance. You can see it has some mild rust - not bad at all. Certainly nothing that is structural or needs to be fixed within the next 5 years or so. Body damage is cosmetic only - ugly but all doors/hood etc. open and close perfectly. New body panels were also on the "to do" list. It has 216K on it but plenty of these engines do over 400 K before a rebuild, and this is a VERY strong engine. I wouldn't dream of changing it. If I was going to South America I might do the head but that would mainly be to put in a new gasket, not because it needed it. There are a million sob stories on eBay so I'll spare you mine. I'm offering this with no reserve, I just need to move ahead and take care of some things. It's your chance to get a really sweet 60 for the price of basic maintenance which I'm too busy to attend to at the moment. Please PayPal me the money within 5 days of close of auction. I will assist the tow truck driver, or you, with loading the vehicle if you plan on bringing a truck/trailer. But I work literally every day of the week, so please coordinate with me ahead of time. I will be in California from June 22 - July 8 - I will only be able to give minimal assistance during those dates. I could have a family member stand by while the towing company gets the vehicle, but nothing more than that. I don't care if you take a few weeks to arrange shipment - I've shipped and bought trucks and I know the deal. But the money must be in my hand in 5 days or I'll relist the truck.
