Vehicle Detail

Reluctantly I am offering my 1987 944 Turbo up for sale. I have a 924 Turbo project that I am going to focus on, so its time to get rid of the big brother. This car has been an almost daily driver for me the past 2 years. Its been a very reliable car and definitely a head-turner. I will try to be overly critical to ensure an accurate description of the car. Cosmetic: The car definitely has some patina of a vehicle that is almost 25 years old. That being said, overall the paint on the car looks really nice. As you'll see in the pictures, from a few feet the car is a stunner. There are the normal nicks and small imperfections that a daily driver would have. There are a few more noticeable areas on the car that would need to be addressed before entering any concourse events : ) There is some bubbling near the drivers' side hatch pin where water must have sat. The front wheel wells near the side skirts could be touched up. The rear passenger wheel well has series of dings. The car will come with black Porsche Cup 1 Staggered rims. If you are Porsche guy, you know how expensive and sometimes hard to find these can be. The interior of the car is beautiful! Great shape, you are going to love it. Lloyd's Turbo mats. Blaupunkt CD Player. The dash has some small cracks in the normal places, nothing major though. Mechanical: Mechanically the car has been really good to me. Engine bay is clean, transmission shifts really smooth, brakes stop quick. The turbo still pulls hard, no smoke. As with almost all 944s the car does leak/consume a little oil. Only synthetic has been used in this car. Currently the ABS light is on and intermittently I get the brake pad light. Likely just needs sensors. All said and done, the car is a great driver that can be near perfect for a small amount of time/money or enjoyed as is. The power options work. Including the sunroof! With the sunroof off its almost like having a targa : ) Please let me know if you have any questions. The car is currently located in Southern California (Newport Beach) if you'd like to take a look. On Jun-08-11 at 13:52:51 PDT, seller added the following information:I've received a lot of questions so I'm posting more pictures to help everyone see the car. More details: The passenger side of the car needs the sill covers put on. I have the long piece, but you'll need to get the short piece. I believe at some point the car was put on a lift incorrectly which is why the sill covers needed to be replaced and why the rocker panels have little dings. The long piece on the rear bottom spoiler could use a respray. Previous owner put a replacement piece on that was off a red 951. The paint on the Cup wheels is a quick black job that was on there when I bought them. They will need to be refinished if you want perfect wheels. I bought the car with the above cosmetic issues and just enjoyed it for the condition that it is in, not bad for a car that is over two decades old. Here are some pictures On Jun-09-11 at 11:48:04 PDT, seller added the following information:My brake pad sensor hasn't come on in a while, but I found that I do have some pad sensors for the car. Here are pictures of the books I have for the car. On Jun-09-11 at 12:19:39 PDT, seller added the following information:Bidders with 0 feedback will need to contact me before bidding. Otherwise their bid will be canceled. Serious bids only please! On Jun-12-11 at 22:36:31 PDT, seller added the following information:A few final details. The car had to be moved so the exact mileage at auction end will be 98,191 miles. The previous owner informed me that the timing belt has been done on the car. It was done around 80K. I don't have a record of the clutch being done, but I believe it has been replaced, given how strong it feels. Feel free to ask any more questions. Good luck!
