Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1969 Corvette Stingray Sport Coupe. The car is powered by its factory original 427-435 hp engine, 4 speed transmission and is equipped with other options including side exhaust, leather interior, AM-FM and leather seating areas. The car's originality is documented by the original Protect-O-Plate and Owner's Manual (with intact Corvette News subscriber card). The tank sticker appears to be intact when viewed through the fuel filler neck, however the tank has not been lowered to verify. While the engine is original (of course the numbers match), the original tri-power intake, carburetors and air cleaner have been replaced with a Chevrolet aluminum 4 barrel intake and carburetor. The original Air Injection Reactor (AIR) pump and related plumbing is missing as well. The transistorized ignition system is still intact and functional. The body still retains all of its original paint, complete with a wide variety of flaws. Worst of these is a crack on the left front fender and minor damage (bent in) to bumper end. Paint has some crazing (typical of older lacquer) and a variety of stains/discolorations that may not be apparent in the attached photos. The insulating substructure for the side exhaust covers is solid and usable, but the decorative die cast cover pieces are either badly pitted or missing. The interior is very original with wear evident in the photos. Passenger head rest is split. This car is a two owner vehicle that has been in dry storage for many years. While surface rust is evident on the frame, both the frame and bird cage are solid. The car runs and drives, however the brakes are not working. The tires (no, they are not factory equipment(original spare and lock!)) will require immediate replacement from extended storage while fully deflated. Your choice is to fix the brakes, replace the tires and drive it as a Survivor, or perform an easy restoration on this desirable Corvette If you are a serious bidder and want to discuss the car please send me a message with your phone number. Thanks for looking Brian
