Vehicle Detail

(5) Always use best synthetic oils. (6) Serviced throughout it’s life – I have the service records. (7) Runs exceptionally strong. (8) Air conditioning excellent (front and rear). (9) Tires good. (10) I just had the front and rear bumpers painted at Maaco (because the paint had worn-off in several spots over the years and I wanted it to look good for you). (11) I had the van completely detailed inside and out, including having the carpets professionally steam cleaned for you. It smells great and is spotless inside and out. Steam cleaned the engine, too. (12) Shifts perfectly, transmission excellent. (13) All of the curtains work perfectly and are ‘kink-free’. (14) I replaced the windshield today because it had a big stone chip in it for the past 2 years - and, I know, you'd buy it and the windshield would crack all the way on your way home! (So, that's fixed.) THE CHALLENGES: (1) It needs ball joints and probably brakes, too. (2) The driver’s side second row captain’s chair’s seatbelt does not retract and the seat belt is pulled-out all the way. The mechanism will have to be opened up and the spring reset. (3) I put a new flat screen TV in two years ago and it worked for about 2 hours and then it stopped. There is nothing wrong with the TV itself, it’s virtually brand new – however, my wiring job stinks and you’ll have to figure it out. I had an inexpensive DVD player and 110V power converter in it at one time, and that was great (they aren’t in the van any longer, I don’t know what happened to them). (4) I believe the electronic motherboard may be going bad and will need to be replaced. The van runs like new, but, I can’t turn on/off all the great interior lights. It may just be the pull-out on/off headlight switch, and it may be something more (I’d tell you if I knew it was anything serious, I really don’t). (5) The driver’s seat is ripped from getting in/out of van at the seam. The driver’s seat seat belt receptacle plastic housing is broken (it’s in the van, but needs to be glued or replaced). (6) There are scratches on the passenger side rear quarter panel (my wife backed into, and scraped, that side on a fence post!). (7) The front bumper is loose, but it has always been loose – it may be designed this way, but I don’t know. (8) The rear-view mirror is loose, too. It’s never given us trouble and it doesn’t wobble when you drive the van, so we never messed with it. (9) In the third row there is a middle seat belt (we never used it) and it, too, is missing the plastic housing on the seat belt receptacle. (10) The engine hood stick (you use it to prop open the hood) is missing the plastic ‘snap-in’ connector so the prop stick just lays inside the hood (I broke this myself when the weather was very cold and the plastic was brittle). (11) It has 142,000 miles on it, however, probably 50,000 of those were highway miles between Arizona and Cleveland, Ohio. (12) The fuel economy is approximately 16 highway and 12 miles per gallon in the city. (13) The overdrive control button (on the gear shift lever) is missing its plastic housing around the button you depress to put the transmission in overdrive (overdrive works perfectly, it's just ugly without the housing). MY COMMENTARY: This van has been gently driven by a mother transporting our four children. I have owned six of these Explorer Conversion Vans going back to 1999 when our children started school and we had to drive them 45 minutes one-way to their classes. I have driven these vans to 250K miles with just standard maintenance, and then sold them here on eBay. In fact, I’m selling this Ford van because I bought an Explorer 2004 GMC conversion just like this with 41,000 miles for $23,000 two weeks ago. I have a small 5’ X 8’ utility trailer I use occasionally to haul stuff (like camping gear, luggage, etc.) when we go on long trips (this way we don’t crowd the passenger cabin and we can all spread-out). So, the van hasn’t been used for hauling anything heavy. These vans are just the best thing to drive if you take long vacation drives or have a big family. Because these Explorer vans are large other drivers tend to stay away from you, actually making them a very safe vehicle to drive (we noticed this right away and you feel safe because of this). You can feel free to ask me any questions you want. I will answer them truthfully. I travel for a living so I won’t be able to easily take more pictures, etc., just because I’m not around. I apologize for the crummy pictures, I took them with my iPhone, so they're not that great - but the van is really nice. If you don’t have good eBay buyer’s rating, please, don’t bid on this van. Do feel free to call me at: 440-836-2150 if I can answer any questions by phone for you. I have tried to point out all the flaws in the van. I want you to be happy if you’re the buyer. I have sold four of my Explorer vans right here when I was done with them. All my buyers were very happy (I think they wrote something about their experience in my feedback section?). That’s it. Good luck. Thank you. My name is Tracy.
