Vehicle Detail

The iconic Chevrolet line up of the mid 50’s was anchored by the ever so popular 150, 210 and Bel Air models. If ever there was a car that epitomized the era, it was these. They came in different variations of course but you could put them all in a blender and out popped sedans, station wagons, coupes and convertibles. Beginning in 1953 , when it first sprang from the drawing boards, the 210 became the best-selling Chevy nameplate for ’53 and ‘54. The 210 offered a tad more bling and comfort than the lesser 150 sibling and you could option one out full tilt, similar to the Bel Air. We all know of course that it was the Bel Air that eventually eclipse the entire line up. Still, the 210 has held its own collector status through the years. If the price of entry into a Bel Air is beyond your means, have a look at our 210. Restoration works were started approximately 7 years ago and at that time she was nicely updated. Since her completion she has travelled with less than 3,000 miles. Still, you will find some small chips and marks on the surface but nothing that will detract from the car’s universal enjoyment meter. The paint is a modern pearl white reflective finish that shimmers beautifully on a Summer afternoon. The chrome on a 210 can cover almost ½ an acre and seen against the pearl finish, this car shines. Slip inside the interior and you will quickly realize its not 1957 anymore. Dressed like Johnny Cash, all in black, the interior makes a statement that is all its own. The front bucket seats are very comfortable indeed and a welcome contemporary enhancement. So often a car looks all the part but puts its passengers through all manner of contortions. This updated interior rewards it occupants. The glove box is set up to slip in a modern radio for your listening pleasure and you can play the Platter’s music all day long. Centered on the dash you will find a flying saucer sized RPM gauge and directly below the dash a further 3 clock cluster. Rest your right hand on the Ratchet Shifter , turn the key and weeeeeee….. Have a look under the custom made hood and you will find a rebuilt ‘70’s era 350 V8 producing approximately 250 HP. She turns over well, rumbles as she should and delivers a bodacious amount of power to the rear wheels. The rebuilt automatic transmission was mated to the engine with professional precision. The placement of the automatic shifter on the floor provides the cool muscle car look without the aggravation of throwing the stick 1,2,3 and 4. Our Chevy wears 235 715’s stern and 205 715’s ahead and they wrap around 4 ( Of course 4) very cool Weld Racing wheels. The entire package flows together well and for a very low entry fee you can enter the hobby and make a splash at the local car cruise.
