No other car typifies British motorsports like the Triumph Spitfire! This is a wonderful example of the marque and is set up as a daily driver. This little convertible is equipped with an electronic ignition, oil cooler, thermostatically controlled electric cooling fan and a set of beautiful and recently rebuilt and polished twin S.U. carburetors. The convertible top is in excellent condition as is the recently purchased boot and tonneau. The car was refurbished by the previous owner in it's original color, but is is not a clear coat finish, so you will have to polish her from time to time. This little car was driven regulary by the previous owner and just as regularly by me. While I believe the car is low mileage, I think that the gauges have been replaced at some point, so I cannot attest to the accuracy of the odometer. The tires are at least 90% and the factory wheels are in near mint condition. She steers perfectly straight at speed and there are no odd squeaks or rattles. This vehicle is equipped with an overdrive transmission which functions as new and I recently replaced the clutch slave cylinder and copper lines after the pedal seemed a little soft. While I had the transmission tunnel cover out, I replaced the fiberboard cover with a great ABS version which will not soak up water, road oils or warp over time. There is also a fresh windshield gasket and chrome windshield frame topper in place, which really enhance her looks with the top down. The only modern upgrade to the interior is the addition of a modern CD player and non-obtrusive speakers which are easily heard with the top down. The only maintenance issue at hand would be to adjust the high idle on the new carburetors and I will include an S.U. manual and carburetor synchronizer to make the job a little less tedious. This car is not concours, but it draws a small crowd at every store in town, so be prepared for the Triumph Delay Factor if you are on a tight schedule. It seems that everyone over 40 has a good memory about one of these little British cars. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, but I will be glad to store the car inside until it can be picked up.
