Vehicle Detail

Let's start by telling you what is non-operational on the vehicle Transmission is going out - Just took it to the repair shop last week to see whay car idling higher than usual and shift abruptly into gear. Diagnosis was the transmission would need replacing...soon! Quote of $3800 to replace. Tape deck- Not sure what is wrong but cassettes are no longer fashionable anyway! Six Disk CD and Radio works great! Rear window defroster Tail lights- Just purchased two on ebay to update the look of the car prior to issues with the transmission. The tail lights will come with the car but wont be installed. Paid $190. Driver side sunvisor doesnt stay up. What I have invested in this vehicle. I have kept up on all type A&B services without fail. Front bumper repainted 2 years ago to remove knicks from rocks. The suspension on three of the tires have been replaces within the past three years ($1500 each!) All four tires were just replaced two months ago with Micheline Pilots. They have a 5 year warranty at Costco ($700). The odometer display has been replaced. (there was a factory recall on them several years back) More details about the car. I have owned this car for roughly six years, when I purchased the car, it had 95,000 miles on it. I absolutely love the car and class it demands. I have invested about as much as I am willing to however the car has served me well. There is a small rust spot on the driver door at the very bottom, see pics. The most impressive aspects of the car is the turning radius and the ability to hug corners at higher than recommended speeds. Prior to the transmission issues, the shifting was seamless. The interior of the car is good. The armrest is the only area in the car that reflects some wear and tear. The headliner is in perfect, yes perfect condition. The car has not been smoked in. The premium leather seats have no signs of wear and tear. The mats could use some cleaning, but the carpet is in good condition. I have only used premium gas in the vehicle and synthetic oil. I would hate to see this car used for scrap parts, if you are willing to invest $3,800 for the transmission, this car will not disappoint you. Kelly Blue Book recommends this car, if sold in good working condition for $7,035. http://www.kbb.com/mercedes-benz/s-class/2000-mercedes-benz-s-class/s430-sedan-4d/?vehicleid=6586&intent=buy-used&mileage=192001&options=251047%7ctrue&pricetype=private-party&condition=good. The price is set to ensure you get a good deal if you have to replace the transmission. I want the car to have a good home. Make it a project car!
