Vehicle Detail
Bright red on black Mopar powered 1948 Plymouth Special De Luxe 2-door Coupe hot rod. This is an original all steel 48 Coupe. Usually, most cars look better in photos than real life. But in this case, I think the car looks much better in-person than in the pictures. These pictures do not do it justice. The car is very reliable and dependable. It is not a show car, though I’m sure you could take it to a Goodguys event and receive many complements. The color is a bright red, which really pops when you see it in-person. Car has a custom pinch louvered hood and it has a nice rake (i.e., the rear sits higher than the front) which gives it a nice classic hot rod look. Car has American Racing chrome wheels which also gives it that classic hot rod look. Tires are in like new condition. It has 205/60SR x 15 tires in the front and 245/60R x 15 tires in the rear. Interior and headliner were recently redone in dark charcoal (basically black) which also gives it a nice classic look. Black carpeting with Dynamat sound deadner. Dash is original but has updated gauges. No A/C, heat, or power steering. Car has Corvette front brakes and stops on a dime, much better than most hot rods. Car is titled and registered in California as a 1948 Plymouth. Here are more details: Body 2-door Special De Luxe Coupe All steel body Custom pinched louvered hood. Custom Briz chrome bumpers front and rear Other than the bumpers, there are no other body modifications (i.e., body is completely stock) Body is very straight, no door dings, though the paint does have numerous rock chips Paint is a 6 or 7 on a scale of 1-10, but it still looks very good. Motor/Trans 318 ci Mopar motor. Always starts right up and runs like sewing machine. The car never overheats, even on the hottest summer days. Also, the car does not leak a drop of oil. Edelbrock intake manifold 600 cfm carb Chysler 904 automatic transmission with transmission cooler New TCI torque converter New starter New battery New exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers No power steering No A/C Suspension & Brakes Corvette Disc brakes in front Drum brakes in rear Residual pressure valves in front and rear 2-inch drop front spindles give it nice rake All new bushings in front end Interior The interior on this car looks great. The interior was recently in a dark charcoal, almost black. It has very comfortable front and back bench seats. The back of the front seats have convenient map pockets. Custom interior gauges New billet window cranks and door opener handles. Black carpeting with sound /heat insulation installed under the carpet New black headliner Sony in-dash car stereo 200 Watts (4x50) with 4 speakers (2 in the front kick panels, 2 in rear deck)
