Vehicle Detail

'99 BMW R1100S, 35K miles, This is a beatiful bike. Runs Excellent. These bikes are a rare find indeed. A fantastic sport touring motorcycle that handles like it's on rails. At the time of its creation it was the most powerful Boxer engine ever built and certainly the best handling BMW ever built. It has an 1100cc Oil cooled Engine, a 6 speed transmission, Shaft drive, Bosch fuel injection, single sided swingarm, BMW's unique Telelever front & paralever rear suspension, full tool kit under the seat that includes an emergency tire repair kit and owners manual, fully adjustable suspension front & rear that can be done on the fly. It also comes with full shop manual on CD ROM. It Does have heated grips, it does not have ABS, the ABS was disconnected when Boxer cup 5.5 wheel was installed. Do you want a great sport touring bike to comfortably, reliably take you and everything you need across the country and still stick with the best of them when the road gets twisty? Do you want a sport bike to blow around town on? This bike is truly convertable, it can go from full on naked sport bike to a comfortable sport touring rig in literally 3 minutes (or less) with no tools and no compromises. With the system cases (BMW Factory saddlebags) and the topcase/trunk It has the luggage capacity to take you anywhere comfortably. With the deluxe Corbin seat and the rapid dog barbacks [ http://www.rapiddog.net/ ] you have a much more relaxed posture/seating position, in other words, you aren't hunched over the tank like your typical crotch rocket and you can stay on it all day. (the Barbacks were not installed yet when some of these photos were taken but they are installed and go with the bike) Drop off the luggage in a few seconds (literally) and snap off the laminar lip (Wind deflector on top edge of windshield in some of the photos) and you have a sleek sportbike that obviously took its styling cues from Ducati. The dual under seat Remus stainless steel exhaust system sounds sweet and is tucked away, "Ducati" style. This is truly a unique machine. The stock "Sport" windscreen also included. Never wrecked, right side head, side case and mirror has some very minor scratches. The damage is minimal and barely noticeable at all, I added the 3 last photos to show it. If you can find all the accesories I have added to this bike you will spend upwards of $4000 or more to outfit it similarly. The BMW system cases are very hard to find and very expensive when you can find them $500+. Harder yet to find are the rails and lower brackets to mount the cases and typically sell for $100 - $150 all by themselves. In a sea of Japanese bikes like GSXR's, Ninja's, R1's, R6's and CBR's this bike stands out. However, unlike Ducati, Apprillia and the other European exotics, BMW has a vast dealer network so parts are more readily available. It gets a lot of attention and with a removeable (also in seconds) rear seat cowl you can bring a friend in comfort. In the fast growing segment of Sport touring bikes like the Honda ST's, Yamaha FJR's, Kawasaki Concours, Again this bike will stand out. even amoung other BMW's. Personally I believe it's one of the most beautiful bikes ever built. Budgetary constraints forces this sale. I have put nearly as much in aftermarket accesories as I'm asking for the bike.
