Vehicle Detail
I restored a 1956 Chrysler Imperial 2 Door Hardtop several years ago and bought these two additional hardtops for parts cars. I never needed any additional parts and they are too nice to part out. Both cars are complete; no parts are missing. One was originally Mint Green with white leather interior and Imperial cloth. It has all options, except the gas heater and hi-fi record player. It has factory A/C, standard AM radio, 354 Hemi engine with the two-speed Powerflite transmission. Interior is totally shot and needs a full restoration. The body had dents and some rust but no damage to frame rails or other key components. Engine turns over but does not start. Engine and transmission will likely need to be rebuilt. All body rust and dents have been removed and car is in primer. The second car was originally all White with white leather and Imperial cloth. It has all options, except the gas heater and hi-fi record player. It has dealer add-on A/C, standard AM radio, 354 Hemi engine with three-speed Torqueflite transmission. Engine turns over but does not start. Engine and transmission will likely need to be rebuilt. All body rust and dents have been removed and car is in primer. Cars are located in dry storage in South Carolina. Both cars roll but do not drive; storage has easy access for trailer pickup. I have added a picture of the car I restored, however, I have sold it. One of those you wish you hadn't sold!! Auction is "No Reserve." I need the space and don't want to move them around. Auction is for both cars. The last picture of the black 56 Imperial with the white top is the car I restored. It is sold. This is what the cars should look like when restored. Have you ever seen a more beautiful 50's car? Is this not so much better that a 55 or 57 Chevy or a 57 Thunderbird?
