Vehicle Detail
The day has finally come for me to sell My Goldwing. If this sells for 1 Dollar I would not complain. It does not owe me anything. I bought it about 2 years ago after it had sat in a garage since the early 90's. I fixed everything at that time and began to use it. Last summer I rode it to Cedar Point, Ohio. It did the trip wel and got about 44mpg with the 2 of us on it. It just went to Savannah Ga, last week, running about 1,600 miles of interstates and back roads. It was fully loaded with gear and 2 people on it. During the trip my girlfriend and I decided to buy a little newer one with a few more options. So, here it is... The good, and bad..... It will start and run fine. Looks awsome, but vintage. Has some rust spots here and there and chips in the chrome. All the lights work and light up. There are 40-50 lights all over this bike. It looks like a ufo at night. The bad.... The fuel gauge is reading off. works, but at 1/2 tank it is empty. The front brake needs to be bleed again. I am having trouble geeting all of the air out of it. On the way back from georgia, in 90degree weather running 70mph with all gear and 2 people it was wanting to overheat. Just started doing this. We slowed down to 55mph and it got alot better. In the morning and at night, it was fine. I think the radiator is clogging up and needs to be flushed. It is going to need brake pads sometime soon, and the right front fork is leaking. Also the rear tire should be replaced. It is getting worn. Seems like alot, but the only thing major is flushing the radiator. Like I said, we just did 750miles on Sunday. I have the new gold wing here, Bought it today, so, it is time for this one to move on. thanks, and feel free to ask any questions. Milage is 100percent original 46,000... Thanks, and god day Pick up, or buyer pays shipping. On May-26-11 at 02:18:38 PDT, seller added the following information: I put project in the listing because it is going to need some work soon. It runs and drives as is, and could be ridden home, but the heat issue needs to be taken care of soon. Also it has some hesitation at low rpm. I was told this is because of the size of the bike, and the carbs could use a god cleaning. It has been like this the last 5000 miles, so it is rideable as is. Look at this as if you were buying anything from 1981. Just want someone else to be as happy as I am with it. At 30-75mph it is a dream to ride. Just couldn't feel better to me. Thanks again. On May-28-11 at 05:42:12 PDT, seller added the following information: Just wanted to update... It is a 1100cc Sorry, just a misprint. Think it is a good sign, I dont order any parts for it. Also, I added three pictures. I got a chance to clean it up. The last three are inside, 1 with the lights on. Looks like I got a couple bulbs out. I will try to get that fixed if i have em. These were taken today. All others were sunday after it had done 1500miles or so. I am in NJ and had it in Savannah Ga last wed-Sunday. Got some good vacation slideshow if you want to see. thanks again and good Luck. I am really hoping this will go to a good home.
