1998 Jetta Wolfsburg 5 speed. The GOOD: Good tires,brakes and all the windows and sunroof still work. Newer battery and rear wheel bearings were just replaced. BAD: A/C does not work and the transmission has started making a noise and jumps when backing up. Runs and drives out good other than in reverse. I was going to fix it but I just do not have the time to fool with it right now. I got a quote on completely rebuilding the tranny for $600 not including labor nor a new clutch and pressure plate. You could be into this car with the tranny fixed for less than $2000. I bought this car from a friend with intentions to fix it but I am focusing my attention elsewhere.
