1966 Imperial Crown Convertible For Sale $25,000 1966 Imperial Crown Convertible with Haze Green paint and black leather interior in excellent condition. This is a rare and beautiful vehicle. It is one of only 514 Chrysler produced in 1966. Current owner purchased it in 2002 when it had 66,423 original miles on it. Since 2002 owner has driven it an additional 3,354 miles – that’s approximately 373 miles per year or 31 miles per month! In 45 years this beauty has only been driven a total of 69,777 miles or 1,550 miles per year. A true weekend pleasure vehicle that has received a lot of TLC! This 1966 Imperial Crown Convertible was in excellent condition when purchased in 2002. However, the current owner has spent over $30,000 on improvements; including, new brakes, miscellaneous engine work, new transmission, miscellaneous electrical, interior refurbished, new paint and new top (see below for complete list). This vehicle looks great and drives great. Only minor things need to be done to this car in order for it to be perfect (see list below of things that could be fixed). Owner has complete record of the work he has had done on this vehicle. Elwood Engel, the designer of the popular 1961 Lincoln Continental, is the designer of this 1966 Imperial Crown Convertible. 1966 was the last year for Imperial’s separate chassis and body; the platform used on this Imperial is the same used since 1959 (D-Body). In 1967 Imperial started using a unibody construction. What this means is that this car comes in a lot of steel, both under and on top. The curb weight for this convertible is 5,295 pounds. This pure 60’s Americana convertible is pure luxury and quality. In 1966 the base Corvette convertible cost $4,084 and 17,762 were built compared to the Imperial Crown Convertible with a base price of $6,146 and only 514 built. Some have called the Imperial America’s Rolls Royce. This car will make you feel like you’re in an episode of Mad Men; or the grand marshal at the Rose Parade.
