Welcome to our listing, and thanks for taking the time to look. Before we begin, we want to make things very clear. This is a used car, and is likely not in perfect condition. If you're looking for a car that is 100% perfect, you need to purchase a new car. Also, we do not sell parts of any kind. 1983 Chevrolet Malibu four door sedan. Equipped with the 3.8 litre V6 engine and automatic transmission. This Malibu came to us as a car that was donated for charity. The odometer reading indicates 35,159 and it is a five digit odometer. There is a clear California title on the car, with a California DMV "non-op" certificate so there won't be any registration late fees for a California buyer. Additionally, it has a passed California emissions inspection as well. This Malibu currently still has it's original California blue and yellow style license plates that were issued to it in 1983 when the vehicle was new. The plates will remain with the car regardless of where the new buyer is. If you have interest in getting into the restored police car hobby, this is an excellent opportunity. This is a replica car, and not an actual police packe vehicle. As you can see below, the late 70's to early 80's Chevrolet Malibu, was regularly used as a police vehicle throughout the country. I have driven this car occasionally since we acquired it and it has no known problems. It runs excellent, it's easy to drive, and is very comfortable and safe. This vehicle is equipped with vintage correct police push bars, spotlight, police radio, and control box. Per ebay requirements the electronics for the police equipment is not connected. Unlike some other sellers on ebay, we do not put "mint" in the titles of our vehicles and then proceed to bury the flaws in long paragraphs where they can be overlooked. VEHICLE EXTERIOR CONDITION Overall condition of the exterior is excellent original with normal wear. New paint, matching the original white color that was on the car from the factory. There are minor dings and scratches present consistent with a used vehicle. Overall the body is straight and the paint looks good. This is a good quality paint work from a production body shop that we use regularly. The front grill, headlights, and front bumper areas are in excellent original condition with normal wear. The rear taillights and rear bumper areas are in good to excellent original condition with normal wear. All tires are in good condition with sufficient tread life. The glass is in excellent original condition with normal wear. This is a rust free original California car, with original blue and yellow California license plates that go with the car, regardless of where the new buyer resides. VEHICLE INTERIOR CONDITION Overall condition of the blue interior is excellent, with normal wear. The front fabric driver’s bench seat is in good original condition with normal wear. The rear fabric passenger seat is in excellent original condition with normal wear. The dash pad is in excellent original condition with normal wear. It is not cracked. The dash face is in excellent original condition with normal wear. The carpeting is in good original condition with normal wear. All of the door panels are in good to excellent original condition with normal wear. The headliner is NEW. The steering wheel is in excellent original condition with normal wear. VEHICLE ELECTRICAL CONDITION Overall electrical condition of the vehicle is good with normal wear. The factory air conditioning blows, but it isn't cold. This could be as simple as a recharge, but we're not sure. Equipped with factory heater/defroster, they work fine. Equipped with power steering, it works fine. Equipped with power brakes, they work fine. VEHICLE MECHANICAL CONDITION This Chevrolet Malibu is equipped with the 3.8 litre V6 engine. The car runs excellent. This car has been driven occasionally since we acquired it, and we have not had any problems. Performance is excellent; it’s comfortable, dependable, and safe. The transmission shifts with no problems or unusual noises. The vehicle accelerates smoothly and sounds great, also no unusual noises. The engine does not ping or knock. Acceleration is strong, braking is strong, it just runs great overall. No known problems here. The vehicle can be stored free of charge for up to two weeks after the auction has ended, or longer with prior notification and agreement. Vehicles left past the agreed storage date are subject to a $15.00 per day storage fee. We are open for vehicle pick up during the week. We are not open on the weekend, but can make an exception with prior arrangement. Sorry but we spend weekends with our families. VEHICLE REGISTRATION, SALES TAX, SMOG, FEES, ETC: We are a licensed California auto dealer. The state requires that if you're out of state and plan on coming here to pick up the vehicle, you need to know that California law REQUIRES the buyer to pay sales tax, registration, and smog fee's if they pick up the car and drive it away. This is still the LAW even if you put the car on your trailer and it never touches the California roadway. If you're out of state, avoid can avoid all of these required fees by having your car shipped to your state. This in most cases is less expensive anyway by the time you figure gas, lodging, and other expenses. If you're an out of state buyer but picking up the vehicle and driving home, we can reduce the state required registration to a $16.00 one trip permit, but the other fees will still apply. If you are a California resident, we collect sales tax, registration fee, and a $58.25 smog inspection fee. We then provide you with temporary registration in the window so you can legally drive the vehicle until your title and license plates arrive in the mail. All sales require a $55.00 DMV and paperwork fee. This covers the costs of our mailings of the title, bill of sale, license plates if required, and going to the DMV for you on your behalf. PAYMENT INFORMATION: Please follow the rules of the auction after it is completed, regarding deposit and full payment deadlines. Anyone not following through with the auction will be reported to Ebay and NEGATIVE FEEDBACK will be left. There is a clear title on the vehicle. A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 must be received by me within 24 hours of the close of auction via Paypal, money order, or cashiers check, sent via overnight express mail. After that, full payment needs to have been received within the next five business days of the close of auction. WE DO NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL AS PAYMENT FOR THE BALANCE DUE. In other words, full payment balance after deposit is due 5 business days after the auction close date, and must be paid via cash (in person only for cash), cashiers check, or money order. All vehicles that are sold to California buyers that legally require a smog inspection will include it, unless otherwise stated in the auction. Any out of state buyer will need to contact their own DMV office for registration and transfer information.
