This car belonged to one of my very best friend's Grandfather, who was in the business of restoring old Model T's and A's. He purchased a new Galaxie every couple of years, and this was his last. It is unique in that it was special ordered with the 429, disc brakes, air-conditioning, power steering... I have a pile of original documentation including the original order slip from the dealer, original window sticker from this (and earlier Galaxies he owned) plus an original set of shop manuals, and mor. The car was bought in Nebraska but the Grandad soon retired and moved to Arizona where the car spent most of it's life, then the Grandson inherited the car and brought it home to Seattle for occasional use. In 2008, he passed the car on to me and I drove it home in January 2008 to NY, used it for a summer and it has seen little use since then. I'm busy with other projects so I'm hoping to find a good home for the car, preferably someone who wants the whole car, not just the engine. Unrestored so it looks a bit rough, but the car runs very well, and the only serious rust is confined to the battery box area which is pretty much gone from years of acid damage, otherwise the car is very solid and a very good project as its all complete and in very good running condition. The car is alot of fun and drives very, very well (you can read the story of my cross country trip here: http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=7704399493 ) and stops great too thanks to the disc brakes. I put new tires on the car before driving it to NY so they are 3 years old but as new. The exhaust manifolds are cracked, and the fuel guage and wipers don't work, and needs the o-ring in the back of the power steering resevoir replaced, thats about the worst of it (and the rusty battery box area). A very nice and worthwhile project for the right person. As of this month, the car is now in storage at my friend's place in Upper Marlboro, MD and can be seen by appointment if necessary.
