For Sale by owner 1977 Volkswagen Bus - Microbus - Vanagon - Camper Campmobile RV 2.0 liter fuel injected, automatic transmission, approx 154,000 miles. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/641/77bus003.jpg/ ---visit this link to see a full slideshow of pictures I bought this bus as a project I have put tons of time and work into it. It is now ready for someone else to enjoy on camping trips and other outings. This bus gives freedom to travel around and plenty of room for all your gear and supplies, plus a place to sleep for 3 adults or two adults and two small children. This ride turns lots of heads everywhere I drive it. I'm a married man now and am forced to sell. I purchased this bus over four years ago. Bus is sold as is. No warranty. Mileage may vary because bus is still being driven some. Exterior: All glass was removed in order to repaint the bus and the interior stripped to see what lurked beneath. Mainly it lots of rust around the bottoms of all the windows, with a small areas of surface rust scattered about-which is typical for an old bus. There were a few small rust holes coin dime sized in the front floor pans. All rust was ground and sanded out and fiberglass backed when needed. It has been two years since the bus was painted. A few small-dime size-rust bubbles have surfaced(see photos), but overall the paint job is still in great condition. I installed custom 2 in receiver hitch which I have used for a bike rack and to pull a sea-doo a couple of times. I also have a custom front mount spare tire holder which I have held off installing since I have decided to sell. It is designed so that it could also hold a bicycle or two off the front off the bus. All weather stripping and window seals are new. I have the original glass, which went where the louvered windows are now. Engine/Mechanical: Transmission was busted when I got the bus, but I pulled it out and swapped it for a working one. I have put this bus together with the intention of keeping it for years and taking road trips in it. It was originally just a transporter, but I have been converting the interior into a camper. Motor ran good when I purchased it, and I have not done much to it. A tune up to adjust valves and timing, change spark plugs and such. I had to put a new starter on it as well. I have put around 18,000 miles or so on the bus in the four years I have owned it. Motor starts up fine even after sitting for a month. I don't drive it much in the winter, but it is garage kept in the winter. I usually get 15-17mpg. Interior: Interior was stripped down to see what was underneath. When I repainted the white I painted the inside around the windows. the rest of the interior metal that could not be covered with panels, including the floor, I painted with a white epoxy paint. Interior panels are painted brown and are not covered in vinyl. I originally planned to cover them, but discovered that the entire kit can be purchased new online for $350 covered in the vinyl of your choice. Also as seen in pictures the headliner has been removed and some glue residue remains. These can be purchased fairly cheap online as well. In the center I installed a rubber flooring like is used on some gymnasium floors. The roller rocker futon kit was purchase online. The futon is 6'3" in length when laid down and is the full width of the bus (most westfalia were 2/3 width). The front seats where pulled from a ford windstar. They are much more comfortable and feature arm rests and retractable seatbelts. Bus has Sony Explode CD player with front aux input two front door speakers are Sony Explode and two 6x9s are wired up under futon seat, but not installed. New parts include: paint, weather stripping, window seals, rear seat - rolling rocker futon - lays into a bed, front seats with retractable seat belts, rubber flooring, cd player and speakers, 2in reciever hitch, throttle cable, heater cables. Probably other stuff I have forgotten to put on here I have bought.
