1986 Chevy Silverado Special Edition 454 BBCAutomatic Transmission This truck was given to my step father 8 years ago. He drove it for two years then parked it due to mechanical issues. He had the engine completely overhauled and built, the transmission was refreshed at the time. After spending all that money getting it right the starter went out. The guy that fixed it didn't shim the starter so it ate the teeth off the fly wheel and completely stripped in some spots so the (Brand New) starter wouldn't even turn the engine anymore. The truck sat for 5 years and for all 5 years I have asked to purchase it so I could fix it up a little and sell it. Finally I got it. I have a new flywheel on it now and the starter is shimmed correctly. I know it has new lifters, rockers and a mild cam. 650 Holley Double Pumper. Automatic Transmission that shifts beautifully. I have put new weather strip on the outer lower window portions, the inner are New and included and I don't have the experience to put them on, they are in the truck on the dash for you. The engine compartment has been touched with Flat Black High Temp Paint and a chrome 454 kit was installed. The whole under body was also coated, this should protect it nicely.. The brakes looked great and work great to. I just put the two New rear struts on. The paint job is not the best but looks great and will protect the body from rusting. There are some imperfections to the paint and two spots where paint is chipped. The interior has three seats, 2 captains and a middle that folds down into an armrest with integrated cup holders. The carpet and padding are both brand new and installed. It has a bed liner and I have the towing package that came off of it if you want it. The steering column tilt needs to be tightened. All running lights work great. I put new tail lens covers on. The interior head liner needs replaced, it was hanging so I ripped it out, the dash is cracked. The truck needs a rear tire replaced, holds air but has wire showing.I think this is a wonderful truck in great running condition and will last for years and years to come.
